Bob Nightengale:
"Rival owners predict that the Cincinnati Reds could be the next MLB team sold. Certainly, Bob Castellini will make a cool profit if he does put them on the block, purchasing the franchise for $270 million in 2006. It’s now worth about $1.6 billion."
Spring baseball season is over. What a ride! Regional games at the Dragons Stadium and Miami University followed by a state semifinal in Canton today. Talk about an opportunity of a lifetime!
@Montrelle33@TJM_3 There's a team to the northwest that is going to be really bad this year and has an all-star CF up for grabs. That would force the Castellinis to spend some money though and trade some prospects for a player who is 32. Heaven forbid that happens!
I genuinely feel bad for these JMU players…they are a good football team who should be competing for a national championship on the appropriate level…now, most will only remember them for tonight…not their fault that CFB can’t figure out a proper post-season structure
@HomanRoss It's not going to matter until the Reds get an owner and GM who spends money wisely and start making smart and aggressive moves. At some point, you have to trade from the farm system to make your MLB roster better. That won't happen with the current regime. #Castellinihastogo
