Awww. Noooo! I'd prefer not to end it. I'm learning a lot. I hope you are too (if desired). Having a belief in GOD is the most important thing, you're right. But is it a belief in a god, or The God?! THAT is what matters. I don't want to terrify or anger or frustrate ppl... just cause them to think. and Research. He will make Himself known to those who seek Him.
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes Oh, what I meant to clarify is that the OT def presents a trinity. Well, I'm certain of a Father and Son coexistent and coeternal. I'll have to refresh on the Spirit. But that 3rd tier seems 2' to our discussion at this moment, yes?
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes oh dang. you've got great inquisitivity! I know the answer, but can't word it well. isn't that funny?! I say to myself "whoo remember that!" and yet I don't... I don't have that gift. I have searched ad nauseam to MY understanding, but still lack the sharing bit. Let me search...
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes what is the injeel? I'd normally look it up before I ask but in your description I'm confused, so can you clarify what it means in your understanding? but oooh reading on, I'm super excited to go research!! I'll read. you respond. we'll meet back here Tue for Tea! ;)
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes in my readings yesterday in John I read how He (Jesus) knows all men['s hearts and thoughts]. I'll try to find the verse tmrw but wanted to comment to keep the thread in my thread.
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes he wrote "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity" Nabeel is waaay more educated, eloquent and erudite than am I.
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes Oh! check out Nabeel Qureshi's work. He's the Muslim equivalent of Saul. Devout Muslim and hard hater of Christianity... until he did research. Became a card carrying Christian apologist. He's likely better able to speak to your understanding, your worldview and your religion.
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes Thank you for these Qs! They help me learn and grow too!! Here's the first resource I check. I like this site bc it's easy to understand and follow. But I will find you others. https://t.co/bJCoLPYKpj
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes Good questions! I had the same ones!
Let me find some resources that are more educated and eloquent than I. As I said, I'm a recent convert so cannot well exposit.
Correct, God is NOT the author of confusion. Love that you said that!!
But that is not synonymous that He clarifies all. There is so so much beyond our comprehension. A good example is all the archeology that has been evidencing the Biblical account slowly but assuredly the past 100yrs.
We take the Bible as the inspired word of God. Which I believe the Koran also says. In the Bible, the case is made that He is 3 persons/forms.
When he stepped down from god-hood and put on flesh, it seems (based on scriptures) he temporarily gave up some attributes of god-hood like full omniscience and omnipresence (yet omnipotence seems to have remained).
He also temporarily took ON some attributes - like being able to feel pain, fatigue, hunger, sadness …and God’s justice for every human sin all doled out onto Him. He must’ve known how horrific that would be since He asked Father to take it away from Him.
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes A lot of people phrase it that way but I find it confusing. But if he’s one being then we’re still at my point of monotheism. It’s a hard concept, but I don’t know if I want a God that my created tiny mind can fully understand.
@GEEKRLand@AntiWokeMemes@grok where does the term “Bible” come from?
Also, did Jesus ever call himself a Christian or tell his disciples to call themselves Christians?
