I want to point out that the South East has 5 governors. ALL 5 of them have come out to publicly back President Tinubu’s re-election bid. The South West has 6 governors, yet not all 6 are backing him. There is also the City Boys caucus.

Keep that in mind when they try to gaslight you with the familiar talking points in the 2027 election run-in that Tinubu’s support is simply a product of Yoruba tribalism, or the tired Emi Lokan narratives and jabs.

This was the same thing they did in 2023 despite electoral data showing the bulk of Tinubu’s votes from any GPZ came from the North.

If at this stage in the political theater you still allow yourself to be tricked into the orchestrated reverse tribal narratives to score points and guilt-trip you pre/post elections, then you are not being manipulated. You are a willing tool. A useful e-diot.

I must admit that I was more struck that the caricature picture came from you than by the words you wrote.

As the official spokesperson for the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a learned member of the Bar, one would expect your public communication to elevate national discourse, not reduce it to political caricature.

The image of Mr. Peter Obi beside a mousetrap is clearly intended to ridicule and dehumanise a political opponent. Such imagery is unbecoming of someone who occupies your office. It sends the unfortunate message that the Presidency is comfortable substituting reasoned engagement with mockery and propaganda.

Nigeria is facing profound economic and security challenges. Citizens expect those entrusted with public office to communicate facts, defend government policies with evidence, and engage critics through persuasion, not through images designed to provoke contempt.

By choosing this form of political communication, you have effectively opened the door to a new phase of mudslinging in our politics. I sincerely hope that is not the standard the Presidency wishes to set. You have to receive same measure!

Political disagreements are inevitable in every democracy, but they should be conducted with dignity, respect, and intellectual substance. Nigerians deserve better than this.
