22 July 1924 | Polish Jewish woman, Frieda Weinreich, was born in Łódź. During the occupation the Germans changed its name to Litzmannstadt.

In August 1944, she was deported from the ghetto there to #Auschwitz. Her mother was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection.

Frieda survived, and today is her 99th birthday.
