Elon Musk Says Bill Gates Doesn’t Understand Science.

Most people assume that if you built one of the biggest tech companies in history, you must have a deep understanding of science.

Elon Musk doesn’t see it that way.

He recalled a conversation with Bill Gates during a visit to Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin.

Gates confidently argued that a long-range electric semi-truck was impossible.

Musk’s response was simple:

“But we literally have them. You can drive them. Pepsi is already using them.”

That moment led Musk to an unexpected conclusion.

He said he was surprised that someone who built Microsoft “isn’t strong in the sciences.”

For Musk, building a great software company and understanding physics aren’t necessarily the same thing.
