URGENT CALL TO ACTION: Stop Blackstone’s Takeover of Texas’ Grid Blackstone Purchase of the Texas-New Mexico Grid. TIME sensitive!
Texas’ energy independence is under attack and I'm asking for your help!

Wall Street giant Blackstone Infrastructure is trying to buy TXNM Energy, the parent company of Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP), an $11.5 billion deal that would give them control over key electric infrastructure in our state.

Blackstone has pledged allegiance to “net-zero” and ESG agendas that prioritize unreliable, expensive energy over Texas natural gas, coal, and nuclear.

The Public Utility Commission of Texas will decide on this deal in December, and public comments will be taken up until the December 15th hearing. There is no option for public testimony in this hearing, unfortunately.

Therefore, we have been reaching out to our fellow Texans to alert them of this and submit written comments to the PUCT. We certainly should not rush into permitting a deal that could make the Texas less reliable should Blackstone prioritize their stated corporate goals of “net-zero” and ESG over our Texas goals for increasing dispatchable sources of electricity. My questions are;

What measures will be put in place to increase the grid’s reliability and protect Texans from market manipulation?

Are there rules that the PUCT could put in place if approving this transaction that could foster Texas’ goal to increase the dispatchable sources and to disincentivize the subsidies that renewables enjoy?

Recall that Blackstone and Blackrock have the same origin and have identical ESG and Net Zero goals in their annual sustainability reports. It is also relevant that our Texas AG has an ongoing lawsuit against Blackrock, State Street, and Vanguard for illegally conspiring to manipulate energy markets, driving up costs for consumers. You can read the 11/2024 filing. We should be asking questions and considering guardrails to protect our state from future harm, should this deal go through.

@_TeddyBrosevelt And yes, he was a walking warning sign for years. We all knew it was the pot but he refused to stop. He ignored the warning signs just like all drug addicts do, until he couldn’t. He’s smoked several times since then and immediately goes back to vomiting. It’s crazy.
