Uber driver: this freeway is blocked. Can we take another one?
Me: Sure. Whatever gets us there faster
Uber Driver: ok!…….proceeds to turn right into the dividing ditch and up onto new said freeway. That was…..new? 👀
I can’t vote and I’ve never felt so helpless. So, here’s my plea to all that can - don’t whine, don’t sit in the corner and grumble about the state of our planet, our rights, our freedoms - use that energy to vote with every damn bit of conviction you have. GO!!!!
Imagine a world where our president at his rally tonight said: I’d like to take a minute to say to all those who were sent these terrible pipe bombs, our hearts go out to you. This should never have happened. You are valuable voices in our civic life. Don’t be silenced.
An incredible evening of conversation at the JCCSF, listening to @jillsoloway talk about “she wants it” and so so so much more. You can’t beat an evening that makes you question every assumption you’ve ever made about yourself, others and the world we live in.
In an attempt to find some goodness in the world, I’ve been working on getting my 1 year old to say “I love you.”
First attempt:
Me: I love you!
1 yo: Bum
Second attempt:
Me: I love you!
1 yo: No Mummy. Shhhhhhhh
It’s going to take some work.......
Stuck on BART because of a “belligerent passenger” - listening to bohemian rhapsody - reading about today’s horror stories on Twitter. Also thinking about the Vietnamese food I’m about to inhale. Such a confusing 30 minutes.
Today is the day Judge Brett Kavanaugh is set to become Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. At this point, senators are expected to pass his nomination, 51-49.
If the 60 vote threshold for justices were not changed last year, Kavanaugh wouldn’t be able to sit on the court.
I carried my 20 month old daughter on my shoulders last night, listening to @anidifranco belt out “not a pretty girl.” A profound moment. These are dismal times, but the strength I have to carry her, both physically and emotionally, is unbreakable. We will fight through this.
