@fittinglycasual@3rnoul No one has to apologize. She saw that it was appropriate to do so. Both she and Cover admitted her wording was poor and emotionally impulsive. You're the only one denying it. Clearly, her post was ambiguously stated and Cover says it lacked consideration to anyone reading it.
@fittinglycasual@3rnoul Yet before any of that, her post is using animal terms for men, so people are questioning that if she's willing to use that term, is she really being fair to otaku or men? That's called context.
We know what set her off, but what conclusion has she taken away from it?
@fittinglycasual@3rnoul I think you're illiterate; it can be interpreted either way. If I said "crime-prone blacks", am I specifying only blacks prone to commit crime or am I saying blacks are generally prone to committing crime? Combine that with using animal terms, and you might think I'm a bigot.
@AiriMimiko@ReReReDive@IbukiArchlVe I'm not an iM@S fan, but apparently there is a song "Clumsy Trick" where the idol is singing to a mannequin that is supposed to represent the Producer/player. There was a collab event where this song was performed, and Laplus rushes the stage to knock it down and take its place.
@Themyster1ous01@OpvsMagnvs I knew it was a bad idea when they were hiring random (I hope) cosplayers and snubbing actual community members who were willing to do it for free.
@AR15_OrdCorps I have no interest in having an honest argument if the end result is that they vote away our rights to the point of armed conflict anyway. Average voter is already fooled by anti-gun rhetoric, just fool them right back with pro-gun. Ten fools are born by the time you educate one.
@AR15_OrdCorps Indirectly justifies banning among who? People crafting the laws or the average mongoloid voter? Can we get a senator to chime in if 'Hearing Protection' Act worked?
At the end of the day, whatever terminology gets the slobbering morons to vote for 2A is what I support.
@703Kyle@MorosKostas I've started to call these people reconciliationists. They are mentally ready to reconcile with enemies when the war is still actively being fought. Let's save that until we take back what was lost a century ago.
@not__yama@fuadgamer The average person doesn't really know the Greek root of words either. It just takes a quick google search to find out the meaning, English or Japanese. And if that's the case, leave it in Japanese to keep all the original subtext.
@not__yama@fuadgamer And if a 5 year old could learn the meaning of "Hikari", why couldn't we? Also, I'd love to hear your opinion on the "Mythra" localization too.
@not__yama@fuadgamer And I'd argue the amount of people that looked up the meaning behind the English localized names could just have easily done the same with the Japanese names. Average westerner is so illiterate, I'd be surprised if they caught any meaning from the EN names.
@not__yama@fuadgamer Are you saying we are localizing for audiences that are less intelligent than a 5 year old? Also, how many English speakers know "Pyra" is associated with Greek for fire? "Mythra" is even less obvious in its meaning than the original Japanese.
@not__yama@fuadgamer The experience can't be 100% reproduced, but preserving the names for the global version would give them the exact same experience as a Japanese person who is also unfamiliar with those stories. We can learn about those stories as non-Japanese just as a Japanese person does.
