Lets keep in mind Caitlin didnt ask for this She’s never said she was the face of the league. She’s always showed respect for those who came before her. She could squash this league like a bug if she started her own league. When she was asked to do NBA 3pt contest she said she wanted to do WNBA one 1st. She has fought for players salaries. But she is by far the most popular player in the league by every metric possible. Was it disrespectful to past tennis players when Serena and Venus instantly became faces of women’s tennis or Tiger with golf? The market dictates who the face of the league is and it’s clearly Caitlin. This argument makes zero sense and is just steeped in jealousy and stupidity

One thing I absolutely guarantee you

Whenever Caitlin is made available to the media (which if I were the Fever I would delay as long as possible - meaning pregame Sunday)

She is going to get asked about this

And she is going to say once again "There is no room for online hate speech or threats to be made against other players and certainly not in my name or on my behalf"

She is 100% going to say that

And then we will be in a situation where Caitlin is apologizing for a situation a) she did not create, b) she did not encourage, c) she didn't do anything at all other than get injured

And she will have been, and will be, the only person IN THIS ENTIRE SAGA who has apologized for anything at all

And that to me is awful. Absolutely awful.
