Today is the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week! As a product of Henry County Schools, I wouldn’t be where I am today with out teachers pouring into me. However, I think our educators need more that just our thanks, they need more support from our state and a pay raise.
I’m running for folks like Ms.Hunt. When she told me how much her prescriptions had gone up I was floored. Unfortunately, her story isn’t unique, thousands of our seniors are hurting. Enough is enough. Ms. Hunt, I’m fighting for you.
State supreme court justices play a critical role in defending your rights and freedoms, which is why the election happening in Georgia right now is so important.
Make sure you have a plan to vote for Jen Jordan and Miracle Rankin, the only two candidates in the race with strong records of standing up for all Georgians.
Early voting is already underway and Election Day is May 19th. Find out where you can vote at https://t.co/OHJnsHnuiB.
We have to call out vile racists like this. This woman is running for the @GaRepublicans nomination and her party is dead silent about this. Tori, you should apologize and then drop out.
People used to get booed out of John McCain rallies for talking like this. Now it seems every Republican primary has 4 people that say stuff like this. Enough is enough.

I don’t hate Muslims, I just don’t want them as my neighbor or in my country! 🇺🇸💪🏻

A solemn memorial for the late U.S. Rep. David Scott at the Georgia Capitol today, where a flag-draped coffin rested in the rotunda as hundreds of mourners gathered to pay tribute.
Scott’s widow and two daughters sat in the front row. Dignitaries included Andrew Young, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, much of Georgia’s congressional delegation and several other U.S. House members.
U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters of California said Scott was her go-to lawmaker on agricultural issues.
“Whatever the complications were, whatever the problems were, he worked to bring the two sides together.”
Dean Calvin Smyre, who served in the Georgia House for nearly a half-century, first met Scott in 1975 when they were part of the same incoming freshman delegation in the state House.
Scott later helped create the PeachCare health insurance program for children. As Senate Rules Committee chair, he helped set the state agenda.
“He brought vision, discipline and a deep respect for the democratic process,” Smyre said. “He was a laser-focused person.”
Smyre recalled that Scott would take the well during tense House-Senate moments and lay into Smyre when he was House Rules chair.
Then Scott would call him that night and ask: “How did I do?”
Smyre said Scott’s legacy offered a reminder about the meaning of elected office:
“He reminds us public service is not about power but purpose.” #gapol
Congressman David Scott was a Titian. His passing has left a hole in our Georgia political community. It was an honor to join family, friends, Members of Congress, and members of our state legislature as we celebrated the Congressman’s life and legacy of service.
With voting already underway and breaking records, I’m sharing the candidates I’m supporting. They reflect the values, vision, and experience our district and state need, and the diversity required to keep building forward.
Get out and vote, let’s make history!
