Never failed with a mag it came with or from Colt. That aside, I’m a lazy gun owner and it’s never been pristine clean either so it does pretty good.

Gun Culture 3.0 has such a beautifully complicated relationship with photos like this.

First everyone stares at the gear. Then someone reminds you, “Gear doesn’t matter, training matters.” Then everyone immediately asks what plate carrier, rifle, optic and NODs they’re using.

The gear companies themselves will post about resisting government tyranny while their marketing proudly announces that they sell directly to government agencies. The customer who bought the kit to defend himself from the government will then explain that he chose it specifically because the government uses it. Ideally it also needs Berry compliance, an NSN, or some other government stamp of approval before he trusts it for his hypothetical fight against said government. Hilariously enough this type of person usually also works for them as well.

And police occupy an equally bizarre position in the culture. Militarized police are jackbooted thugs preparing to confiscate your guns, right up until there’s a shooting and police don’t immediately assault the building, at which point they’re useless pussies restrained by liberal politicians.

Then we return to “training matters,” which usually means buying the exact equipment worn by the people we’re simultaneously idolizing, criticizing, preparing to fight, demanding protect us, and accusing of being over-equipped.
