Let that sink in. Not "I made it up." Not "it didn't happen." A woman who told the truth, consistently, for eight years, finally concluded that the system is so stacked toward a rich and powerful man that justice was never actually on the table for someone like her.

To be clear about what this is and isn't: Weinstein is still in prison. He's still convicted of sexually assaulting another woman in New York, and of rape in California. Prosecutors said plainly they believe Mann. They called her brave. This isn't him being cleared. It's him being protected by exhaustion — by a process designed so that a billionaire with endless lawyers can outlast a survivor until she simply can't stand up again.

That's the quiet way powerful men win. Not innocence. Attrition.

Dit artikel in Trouw - waar in een lange rij ondertekenaars ook mijn naam staat - spoort de Gezondheidsraad aan om bij de vraag naar advies over 'transgenderzorg voor jongeren', zichtbaar te maken welke aannames ten grondslag liggen aan het Dutch Protocol.

Het is een behandelingstraject voor kinderen en pubers met puberteitsblokkers, 'cross sex' hormonen en/ of operaties, dat tot onomkeerbare fysieke veranderingen leidt.

De discussie over het 'Dutch Protocol' (de aannames, de onderzoeken die eraan ten grondslag liggen, de resultaten op korte en op langere termijn) wordt overal elders al gevoerd - begint die nu eindelijk ook in de Nederlandse media?

Ik moest even twee keer knipperen. Uit het coalitieakkoord van gemeente Utrecht:

1. Prostitutie is werk. (vraag me af wanneer het college met droge ogen snuffelstages introduceert).
2. 'Sekswerk' is kennelijk een basisvoorziening in Utrecht en net als bibliotheken en scholen iets wat de overheid moet faciliteren.
3. Er moet volgens het college meer ruimte voor sekswerk (lees: jonge vrouwen uit Oost-Europa) komen in Utrecht.
4. Het college snijdt in de mogelijkheden die kwetsbare vrouwen hebben om te kunnen ontsnappen aan moderne slavernij.
