💙Tonight was bigger than hockey. 💙
Before today’s game, Lawrence Tech University Men’s Hockey honored their fallen teammate Logan Barnes in a moment that will never be forgotten.
The Blue Devils officially retired #5 in Logan’s honor — a powerful tribute to the impact he made on this program, this campus, and everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Logan Barnes’ legacy will forever be part of Blue Devils hockey. His number may be retired, but his spirit skates on with this team every day.
Forever #5. Forever a Blue Devil. 🕊️🏒💙

Earlier today, @CUCFBFamily posted the graphic below celebrating a B/B- football team GPA last term. While a 2.83 GPA might not be the goal of some schools, it does likely represent that half (or more) of the team achieved GPAs of a B (3.0) or higher. It also represents that some of the players that may have been viewed as academic risks are likely succeeding and using their opportunities created by #d3fb to their maximum extent.
Concordia decided to remove the graphic and post likely because of shaming that was occurring via a D3 football organization that has done the same toward other similar posts in the recent past.
My message is simple: if a school sees fit to celebrate a team GPA that is within the realm of a successful scenario for that school and/or its football program, it is not for us to grade-shame that program or school. I’m sure Concordia, UMHB, and others want a 3.0 team GPA as much as anyone, but the number doesn’t tell the entire story of the achievements of the student-athletes at those programs.
To the players at Concordia that have worked their asses off to represent their team and opportunities well, be proud and never be embarrassed for what may be successful achievements in your life’s journey. Keep pushing to succeed higher and higher, and never let someone else dictate your narrative in the manner described above. @D3FBHuddle
