@CarterCruise Oh yeah I agree with you on all of that. The subset that has that belief is also the subset that does want the 40 yachts. I work in big tech outside adult and one day my wife and I were walking near where they park their yatches....two 8 deckers surrounded one 6 decker
Most adult creators won't pay attention to the OnlyFans $3B stake sale to Architect Capital.
They should.
What a minority investor deal actually does to a platform over the next 12-18 months, and why creator income is the first thing to feel it. 🧵
OnlyFans just agreed to sell a stake to an investment fund at a $3B valuation. They were originally asking for $5.5B. That's a $2.5B haircut in 90 days. Buyers don't cut their offers in half unless something in the numbers made them nervous.
Every creator on that platform needs to pay attention...
“He gave our community so much!”
- He didn’t build/design OnlyFans, and the original owner stole the design from a sex worker
- When he bought OnlyFans he actually took money from models by stopping the model referral program to pocket the profits on what was advertised as a lifetime program and didn’t continue paying out those signed up under lifetime referrals (the site jumped $2 billion in profit the year this happened)
- His webcam site excluded trans women as women because he wanted cis women performers only
- Rumors are in circulation that he gave preferential treatment on his webcam site to models that would sleep with him
- He made large donations to AIPAC
- He tried to ban porn from OnlyFans (we’re not all forgetting that, right? That he attempted to de-platform thousands of adult creators?)
RIP though… I guess?
Dying doesn’t cancel out harm caused to the industry by actions he took when he was alive. He took money from creators pockets and attempted to censor them. If it didn’t happen to YOU, that’s great. It doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
