We live in Louisiana now, but LA neighborhoods have no alligators walking around like they did in SC. It was beyond belief how many alligators were in every single neighborhood pond. In fact… look at this twitter profile pic, taken from my back porch in SC…alligator, as per the norm

It was intentional it was mean spirited; he did not care about her feelings. A priest gave a speech to married people about a man whose wife divorced him because he kept leaving his water glass on the counter instead of putting it in the dishwasher. It was the same thing. No matter how much she explained to him that it was upsetting, it made her mad, she wanted him to put the glass in the dishwasher at the end of the day…he wouldn’t do it. So he won himself a divorce… and regretted his jerk behavior

We have a child with a chromosome disorder who has special needs and will live w us the rest of our lives. She is 25 yrs old. The part of his essay that struck me is that “this is not something that happened to her”. So true. In both our cases, we know that our child is a child God created, and who he wanted in this world. God created her perfectly, exactly as she was meant to be. ❤️

I was at an outdoor bar (many years ago) and met a guy who was tall, cute and a lawyer. He asked me out, and I said yes. A few more minutes of talking and he says that he wants to let me know he has a 6 year old daughter. Then he follows up with “You will love her!” . At that point, I went to the BR and never returned. I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life negotiating child time with an ex wife. Couldn’t do it

Then 20 years later we became foster parents for DCFS. We have now had our foster teenager for over two years and things are going very well.
