Mr Fang spoke to me two days after we both had incidents at the Thmor Da border containers.
Mr Fang had his land and hotel stolen, his hotel was then raided/looted by the Thai military. Even his son’s prized pool cue was stolen.
The Cambodian government has formally protested what it described as “an unauthorised incursion” by the Thai Navy into Cambodian territorial waters. They demanded the return of three Cambodian fishermen and their seized boat.

🔥 BREAKING: New Investigation Confirms "Thailand Broke International Law"
For months, the world treated the border conflict as "mutual blame." Now, a major investigation by The New York Editorial reveals the hard truth: While Cambodia may have lit the match, Thailand burned down the neighborhood.
The report, backed by international data, exposes how a border dispute was turned into an illegal war to win an election in Bangkok.
Key findings that every Cambodian needs to know:
Disproportionate Force: When a landmine injured one soldier, Thailand responded with F-16 fighter jets and airstrikes. The report calls this "wildly disproportionate."
Illegal Weapons: The investigation confirms Thailand used cluster munitions—weapons banned by most of the world—which tragically took the life of 10-year-old Sern Sovann in Preah Vihear.
Psychological Warfare: The report documents how Thai forces blasted "wailing ghost sounds" and funeral music at 3:00 AM into our villages to terrorize sleeping children.
Political Games: The evidence suggests the Thai government used our border and our lives as a campaign strategy to win their election.
The Hard Truth:
The report is fair—it does not let our side off the hook. It highlights how the scam compounds and political decisions in Phnom Penh created the conditions for this crisis.
But the conclusion is clear: Creating a crisis is bad. Waging an illegal war against civilians is worse.
👉 As of today, nearly 98,000 of our people are still displaced.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet told Reuters Thai forces have not withdrawn from Cambodian territory after fighting last year and a US-brokered peace accord https://t.co/MGmV6fVNhT
Three different types of Thai fighter jets have now been used against a country with no air force.
No air defense capability.
No fighter jets.
No combat aircraft.
This is not air parity or deterrence. It is the repeated use of advanced air power against a state with no ability to respond in the air.
Cambodian Minister of Environment Eang Sophalleth has described Thailand’s aggressive incursions into Cambodian territory through aerial bombardment, artillery shelling and the use of toxic smoke as violations of international law that have destroyed natural resources, actions that should be considered “environmental crime”.

At 10:00 am (December 24, 2025), the Thai military used T-50 fighter jets to drop four bombs into a civilian residential area deep into Cambodian sovereign territory in Banan district, Battambang province, along the route to Pailin Province, before continuing toward Chanthaburi Province. The T-50 is an aircraft manufactured in South Korea. So far, the Thai military has used three types of aircraft—made in the United States, Sweden, and South Korea—to carry out attacks on Cambodia.”

Is Thai Prime Minister Anutin the next Putin? It's so clear to me Anutin admires Putin's playbook to steal land and make false accusations of opposing threat from a small country.
More than anything. Anutin’s behavior and statements show that he doesn’t understand the concept of sovereignty. Sovereignty isn’t just about a country’s right to do what it wants; it’s also about its responsibility to its neighbor to act with a proportionate response. Anutin has violated this core tenant of Sovereignty completely in recent weeks.
If you are going to treat someone else with disproportionate force then why bother with laws at all?

After the thief lands 🇹🇭, people will claim that Cambodia copied their religion.
But now, look at where the thief 🇹🇭 landed - stealing Cambodia's statues! Hahaha, this thieving 🇹🇭 country is truly 100% land of thieves 🇹🇭😆🤪🐃🐃 🇹🇭🤮🤮🐕🐕🤴🤴🤮🤮
In 1941, Thailand invaded Cambodia and later declared war on the United States and the United Kingdom.¹
In 2025, Thai accusations that Cambodian soldiers fired across the border are again being used to justify an ongoing Thai invasion of Cambodia. Similar claims formed the basis of Thailand’s 1941 invasion of Cambodia. Then, as now, Thailand’s military action was intended to annex Cambodian territory.
Despite full knowledge of Japan’s genocidal conduct in China, including the 1937 Nanjing Massacre in which approximately 200,000 civilians and prisoners of war were killed, Thailand entered into a treaty with Japan on June 12, 1940.² This agreement laid the groundwork for Japan’s subsequent occupation of French Indochina and British Malaya.
After ratifying the treaty, Thailand invaded Cambodia and Laos in January 1941, claiming that French colonial forces in Cambodia had fired across the border into the Thai town of Aranyaprathet. In reality, Thailand had been preparing for invasion for months.³ Within weeks, Thailand forcibly annexed northern Cambodian provinces and western Lao territories.⁴
In December 1941, Thailand and Japan concluded a further agreement providing for mutual military support, with Japan explicitly backing Thailand’s territorial claims covering annexed areas of Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, and Burma.⁵ This agreement secured Thailand’s role as a logistics hub and staging ground for Japan’s conquest of British Malaya and Burma between 1941 and 1942.⁶
In July 1943, Japan rewarded Thailand for its cooperation by transferring to it six provinces of British Malaya and Burma.⁷
During this period, Thailand facilitated and materially benefited from Japan’s use of forced labor to construct the Burma Railway, linking Bangkok to Yangon.⁸ Among the enslaved laborers were 30,131 British and 686 American prisoners of war. Of these, 6,904 British and 131 Americans died as a result of brutal working conditions.⁹
Following the Allied victory in World War II, Thailand was compelled to relinquish all territories it had annexed in Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, and Burma. Britain initially sought punitive measures, including extended occupation of Thailand and potential control over the Thai Isthmus.¹⁰ The United States, however, opposed harsh postwar treatment, arguing that severe demands would destabilize Thailand and the wider region.¹¹
As a result, Thailand faced limited accountability for its wartime territorial aggression.
Now, in 2025, with little apparent collective memory of the consequences of its earlier irredentist ambitions, Thailand is once again invading Cambodia.

As of 12:00 a.m., December 22, 2025, Thailand has conducted 23 airstrikes on Cambodia, destroying military targets and civilian infrastructure, including primary schools, pagodas, and bridges (bombings listed below).
The Thai airstrikes are unanswered. Cambodia does not have its own fighter aircraft or any surface-to-air defenses. The conflict has resulted in the displacement of 518,611 Cambodians.(1) Thailand also reports 213,072 people displaced out of precaution from Cambodian artillery fire.(2) Khmer people are suffering. The Thai provinces along the border are populated by Khmer people, such as Surin province, which is estimated to be at least 63% Khmer.(3)
Thailand agreed to an unconditional ceasefire on July 28, 2025, pressured by U.S. President Trump. President Trump oversaw the signing of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord by Thai Prime Minister Anutin and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on October 26, 2025. However, on November 10, 2025, Thai Prime Minister Anutin announced that Thailand was suspending the peace accord.(4,5)
Anutin’s public reason for cancelling the peace accord was that four Thai soldiers were injured by a landmine on a jungle path in disputed territory on November 10, 2025.(6)
However, Anutin is influenced by political calculus. Anutin, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party (“Thai Pride Party”) became prime minister on September 5, 2025, with the help of the much larger People’s Power Party which called for a referendum on the constitution to shift power from the unelected Senate. Anutin falsely agreed to support a referendum as October 1, 2025.(7)
Anutin’s November 10 cancellation of peace accord occurred only after he was aware that he would face an election. On November 5, 2025, Anutin himself stated “If we cant win the political game, we’ll dissolve the House”.(8) Early elections became even more certain for Anutin on November 9, 2025, when the People’s Party demanded an extraordinary session for constitutional amendment, rejected by Anutin.(9)
Adding to Anutin's desperation, his approval rating dropped from 48% to only 23% following the slow response to floods in Southern Thailand from November 21-24.(10)
The commencement of war with Cambodia on December 7, 2025, strategically positioned Anutin for reelection ahead of the dissolution of parliament on December 12, 2025.
