Among the trees of the past aeons, this cradle of each soul offers a realm where nights of sweetest ardour evoke harmony without pettiness and fear. Thus, the last shadows of the night fill the veils with the tickling Junipers' well fragrance. https://t.co/LLijSU8UKJ

To protect an ancient tree species that may be crucial for scientific research and conservation, we urge distributing these seeds in nurseries across the African highlands. This action aims to lower the extinction risk of this critical species.

Stabilizing and preventing landslides in the Highland landscape is challenging because the area has lost its natural strength from the original trees' roots. Careful attention is required to avoid hazardous outcomes along the waterways. https://t.co/Qq4KFBpklr

All Ethiopians set out to plant 600 million saplings from sunrise to sunset today. Refusing to let the sun set without achieving our goal, we surpassed it, planting an astounding 615.7 million saplings by the end of the day.

Children have planted their hope. Young people have demonstrated their resilience. The elderly have left a legacy. From one corner of the country to another, Ethiopians stepped out and made their mark. With our unwavering spirit and perseverance, we accomplished overnight what has never been done anywhere else in the world. Today, we stand for climate balance, line up against soil degradation, and commit to ensuring food security. We have worked relentlessly to restore the prosperity of our land. With the Creator's help, we achieved what we set out to do by today's sunset.

In total, 29.1 million citizens planted saplings across 318.4 hectares of geospatially mapped locations. The planting efforts outside the registered database will continue to be reported.

This is a testament to the incredible solidarity and perseverance of Ethiopians. Our gratitude goes out to the leaders, professionals, and media institutions who played key roles in planning, monitoring, and ensuring the success of this initiative. Together, our ambition is to build and sustain a better Ethiopia, and our efforts will continue.

Within the natural landscape is the complex biology from the primaeval forest, which hides the important science by its tremendous capacity to create groundwater but also thanks to its natural way of enriching the clouds to produce precipitation.

On this historic day, we have gathered in the city of Assosa for the one-day planting event, in a region known for its natural abundance, mineral wealth, and fertile lands. With the conclusion of today's event, we will have planted around 40 billion seedlings since the launch of the Green Legacy program in 2019. Of the seedlings planted in the past year, 50% have been focused on food security, soil conservation, and combating land degradation. As we move forward, we must continue planting in areas like the Abay River Basin to support water conservation.

Forests are vital for the planet's health and human well-being. They provide oxygen, store carbon, and regulate the climate, helping to mitigate climate change. Forests are also home to a vast array of biodiversity, offering habitat to millions of species. Let’s protect our existing forests and continue increasing our forest coverage by planting. Get ready for August 23rd!

The original forest's optimization as a water guard is a testament to its overwhelming strength and crucial role in saturating the aquifers. Their potent water accumulation effect is due to the height of the mountain massif's tremendous natural storage. https://t.co/pynBb5eBpC

The native Ethiopian vegetation served as a highly effective physical barrier, blocking the country's water masses from rushing in turmoil down its slopes. Thus, Ethiopia's groundwater reservoirs harboured the downpours and moistened the landscape. https://t.co/tczd4gkeT3
