@petrock @ZhiLin38415 @ProfSteveKeen Well articulated, @petrock. To lighten up this conversation a bit, calculating marginal changes also requires calculus, and no one wants to do calculus. (Especially if it’s uncertain whether it’ll be useful!)
@ProfSteveKeen Thank you! With 10 years of economic development experience, I have yet to meet a business owner that calculates derivatives to make business decisions.
@elonmusk Wrong. American cannot go bankrupt because it produces its own sovereign currency. Literally not possible as a sole producer of the dollar. Inflation is the only constraint. Someone as capable as you should know this.
@elonmusk Last I checked, you and your spouse are not the sole producers of a sovereign currency that can’t go bankrupt. The number of people that don’t understand federal finance is exhausting. That includes you too, space head @elonmusk.
@elonmusk@realDonaldTrump You’re wiping out half of the USDA staff. These are employees who try to support rural America - 99% of T’s voter base. I don’t understand how they are “waste”. I get cutting programs that benefit wealthy NGOs and obscure programs. I do not understand cuts like this. Poor job, E.
@Sadie_NC Irrelevant comparison. Businesses are nothing like the Federal Govenrment. How do I know? What private company has the authority to create its own currency? … oh, none.
@elonmusk You do not understand federal finance. We cannot run out of money. Why? Because the federal government is the sole producer of the US dollar and can produce funds when necessary. Inflation is the constraint to be concerned with, not running out of money. It’s simple, @elonmusk
@elonmusk Correct. We have a sovereign currency. Tax revenue does not actually pay for anything, it’s literally destroyed upon receipt by the federal government. (Federal) Tax is simply a tool to manage inflation and give value to the US dollar.
