The Houston Rockets are in the middle of an unprecedented season offensively.
HOU is a bottom 5 half-court offense (91.5 PPP, 27th) but they are 12th in overall offensive efficiency (+0.9 rORTG).
Despite having a halfcourt offense 5.9 points WORSE than league average, the Rockets are 1 of just 2 such teams over the last 22 seasons to have a positive relative offensive rating.
They’ve accomplished this by being GENERATIONAL on the offensive glass:
35.6 OREB% (1st this season, 3rd highest since 2004)
1st in Pts/Miss (1st, 4th since 2004)
23.8 Putback Plays Per 100 Misses (1st since 2004)
The Rockets create more putback opportunities than any modern NBA team ever.
Amen and Tari are more athletic and active than every team they face. Sengun and Steve-O are stronger than any center who tries to keep them off the glass.
They will out rebound your team, it’s inevitable.
Can you pass the Test taken to be a History Teacher in the US?
These are 10 Questions from the Praxis Test for Social Studies
6/10 to Pass
1. Which of the following Rivers did NOT play an important role in the development of the earliest Civilizations?
The Houston Rockets have a ton of young talent, but the bench duo of Amen + Tari has been electric…
Supreme athleticism, positional rebounding, & defensive want-to. Amen’s problem solving capacity is off the charts. Perimeter shooting would be the final piece.
"For a small amount of perspective at this moment, imagine you were born in 1900…
Then on your 14th birthday, World War I starts, and ends on your 18th birthday. 22 million people perish in that war, including many of your friends who volunteered to defend freedom in Europe.
Later in the year, a Spanish Flu epidemic hits the planet and runs until your 20th birthday. 50 million people die from it in those two years. Yes, 50 million.
On your 29th birthday, the Great Depression begins. Unemployment hits 25%, the World GDP drops 27%. That runs until you are 38. The country nearly collapses along with the world economy. If you were lucky, you had a job that paid $300 a year, a dollar a day.
When you turn 39, World War II starts. You aren't even over the hill yet, but don't try to catch your breath. If you lived in London, England, or most of continental Europe, bombing of your neighborhood, or invasion of your country by foreign soldiers along with their tank and artillery was a daily event. Between your 39th and 45th birthday, 75 million people perish in the war.
At 50, the Korean War starts. 5 million perish. At 55, the Vietnam War begins and doesn't end for 20 years. Millions of people perish in that conflict.
On your 62nd birthday, there is the Cuban Missile Crisis, a tipping point in the Cold War. Life on our planet, as we know it, could have ended. Sensible leaders prevented that from happening.
In 2020, we have the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands have died; it feels pretty dangerous; and it is.
Now think of everyone on the planet born in 1900. How do you think they survived all of the above? When you were a kid in 1965, you didn't think your 65-year-old grandparents understood how hard school was, and how mean that kid in your class was. Yet they survived through everything listed above.
Perspective is an amazing art. Refined as time goes on, and very enlightening. So, let's try and keep things in perspective. Let's be smart, we are all in this together. Let's help each other out, and we will get through all of this.”

Shambles, an old street in York, England; and one of best-preserved Medieval Shopping Streets in Europe. With its cobbled streets and overhanging timber-framed buildings, some dating back as far as 14th Century AD.
As recently as 1885 AD, thirty-one butchers' shops were located along street, but now none remain. Although butchers have now vanished, a number of shops on street still have meat-hooks hanging outside and, below them, shelves on which meat was displayed. Street was made narrow by design to keep meat out of direct sunlight.
Today, beautiful old buildings have been restored and now house cheerful cafés, quirky boutiques and even a coin & stamp dealer and smells are rather more pleasant with aromas from chocolate, fudge and sweet shops, clothes, accessories and gift shops.
