3W visited AGE UK in Farnworth today. We sang our songs - Do a Deer and Singing in the Rain. We had juice and a biscuit and a sing along with some of the ladies and gentlemen at the centre. Thank you for having us AGE UK!
This morning, we have had a Zoom call with Amy who has brittle bone disease. She has been talking to us about living with a disability and how she adapts her life to overcome challenges she faces.
Year 3 created unique poppies using collage techniques to create a beautiful โCenotaphโ last week. We were able to have a meaningful discussion about war and conflict and looked at the art of Jacqueline Hurley who is widely regarded as the countryโs foremost remembrance artist.
3W enjoyed a walk in sunshine (for a change) to St. Anneโs Church in Chapeltown. We looked at stained glass windows, the font, and the altar where communion is performed. We really enjoyed our morning and would like to thank Revโd Hannah for giving us so much information!
In Science, we used biscuits to make different kinds of rocks. These were our sedimentary rocks, which were made by layers of โrockโ at the bottom of the ocean ๐ชจ
