Delighted to announce that we will be publishing #ThePursuitofKindness by @EamonnToland in May 2021. This ground-breaking book argues that, although it is often thought that competition is the key to human development, humans are naturally collaborative.

Incredible. Absolutely incredible.
Thank you very much to this councillor for confirming what we have been saying for years, to the tune of much denial.
As someone who unequivocally condemns Ben-Gvir’s actions towards Irish citizens, and has publicly expressed that repeatedly, it is genuinely nauseating to see this from Irish people who didn’t have a single word to say about the murder of Kim Damti and the abduction of Emily Hand.
I care about the welfare of Irish detainee Catriona Graham (the woman in the video) despite the fact that she was proudly pictured in front of the Hamas red triangle, an organisation whose founding charter calls to murder all Jews indiscriminately. She is an Irish citizen and that’s all that matters to me in this circumstance.
By contrast, Rob and hundreds of other Irish people on this site didn’t express a damn about Irish Jewish citizens. Not a single damn. Don’t believe their faux concern for the integrity of the Irish people for a second. It certainly did not extend to a young Irish girl slaughtered at a music festival, or even a little kidnapped Irish child. Or is it that these girls aren’t Irish to you at all, Rob? You tell me.
Beautiful Danielle Waldman, daughter of Eyal Waldman. She was murdered on October 7th by Hamas terrorists at just 24 years old. May her memory be a blessing.
Prior to October 7th, Eyal opened a design centre in Gaza, donated $360,000 to a hospital there, and created jobs for Palestinians both in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank. When asked if he regretted this decision after his daughter’s murder, his response was as follows:
‘No, I don't. I think we need to do everything we can to make this place the best place to live in. And we need to stop killing each other and find a way to live together. I have been working for two-and-half decades trying to make peace.’
A tragedy indeed that a man of such profound goodness - whom we all should endeavour to emulate - is treated with such hatred and contempt.
The genuinely sad thing is, it’s very clear that Boy George has immense love for both the Irish and Jewish people. In his Late Late Show interview he spoke with deep affection of his Irish mother, and of his joy about recently acquiring his Irish passport and using it for the first time during his latest trip here.
The greatest work of art ever produced by an Irish person was about an Irish Jew. And the greatest Jewish character in fiction was Irish. Jewish and Irish are not a polarised binary, and those of us who speak up against antisemitism should never be smeared as ‘defaming’ our country. We endeavour to honour it by ensuring a longstanding community, one that has contributed so much to the fabric of Irish society, is treated with respect and dignity.
‘The Republie guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens, and declares its resolve to pursue the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and of all its parts, cherishing all the children of the nation equally, and oblivious of the differences carefully fostered by an alien government, which have divided a minority from the majority in the past.’ - Proclamation of the Irish Republic, 1916.
It was an alien force that divided a minority from the majority in the past. We cannot allow such a divide to be fostered from within against our most loyal Jewish community. Indeed, my Irishness that compels me to do everything in my power to stop that from happening.
I’m honestly tired of the Free Press publishing articles that serve to provide justification for MAGA eroding civil rights advancements and legislation because the wokescolds took things too far in this regard.
The Americans with Disabilities Act, 1990, is unequivocally a good thing. It is the gold standard for civil rights law for disabled people across the world. It is also completely predicated on the social model of disability: one that posits that disability is caused by the way society is organised, rather than by a person’s impairment or differences, and that society is therefore responsible for providing accommodations to people with disabilities.
The Free Press publishing an article that positions the social model of disability (a term the author doesn’t even seem to even be aware of) as a damaging online culture pushed by wokes, is flippantly drawing into question the driving force behind crucial legislation with complete disregard to the rigour such a topic warrants.
By all means, have a nuanced conversation about the toxicity of online disability community culture and the undeniable issue of overly policing language. I’m here for it. But positioning a whole model of disability - one that has had quantifiable benefits for disabled people and their participation in education and employment - as being a nefarious agenda pushed by wokes is beneath any credible publication.
We’re within a couple of weeks of 60th anniversary of ‘modern’ UVF kicking off new terrorist campaign at relatively calm time in NI. To celebrate, the atavistic tossers of the ‘new’ IRA placed a car bomb outside a police station. At least in Groundhog Day lessons were learned
"If the Left wants to recover from this moral catastrophe [glorifying mass murder and rape by a reactionary death cult ], it must begin a serious reckoning." @mboudry Maarten Boudry turns around the question, "What Did You Think Decolonisation Meant?" https://t.co/mEJss73leW
An Garda Síochána is aware of alleged intimidation and harassment of drivers of trucks and fuel tankers going about their lawful business.
This is unacceptable.
This is not protest.
This is criminal activity.
An Garda Síochána will investigate all complaints received!
If you're the mother who was reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone aloud to your child on the LNER train from London to Edinburgh yesterday, one of my grown up children was listening and says you did the voices brilliantly❤️🥹
🤩 🇮🇪 🍀 Excellent contrast in the Oval Office.
Micheál Martin stepping in to back Keir Starmer in front of Donald Trump.
Europe is starting to close ranks.
And Micheál Martin stood his ground, even reminding Donald Trump that Winston Churchill is a mixed figure in Ireland.
👏 No sucking up! Just diplomacy with backbone.
This makes for extraordinary watching.
An Irish keffiyeh-clad man accuses Iranians of being ‘puppets’ when they try to tell him that the Islamic Regime has killed more Iranians than anyone.
An Irish woman tells the Iranians to ‘go back to your own country’, which is just astonishing for an Irish ‘refugees welcome’ leftist to say (I suppose that welcome does not extend to refugees who challenge pre-existing biases about the Middle East). She also denies the tens of thousands killed by the Regime in recent weeks, which visibly upsets an Iranian woman.
Today, anti-Israel extremists protested a conference at Google Ireland (both outside and inside the building) simply because Israelis are attending event.
As you can see, this ‘protest’ includes a picture of Hitler. So we have a situation now where Irish people are shoving pictures of Hitler in the faces of Israeli Jews under the guise of social justice.
Things are simply out of control in this country. If this is the reaction to Israelis attending a random tech conference, what is the reaction going to be to the Israeli national soccer team?
I really recommend ‘How to Get to Heaven from Belfast’ on Netflix. Another masterpiece by Lisa McGee, the creator of Derry Girls.
There is a significant amount of Gaeilge (Irish language) in the show too! Beautiful to hear 💚☘️
I can see why nationalists find it ironic for the DUP to be celebrating the role of the Ulster-Scots in founding the United States, but it is a record so remarkable it deserves celebration, and unionists are hardly alone here in having a conflicted relationship with the USA.
