I think the obvious answer to why Canadians, generally speaking, aren't getting worked up is that they can't imagine what someone else could do different to get a different result. It's possible that there is a different path, but no one is articulating it.

@krimar @MurphysLaw74 Non-Habs fan: I think you're overvaluing Hage. Thomas is a 26yo point-per-game C. Only 18 Cs in the whole league did that this year and he's on a great contract for 5 years. It's really unlikely Hage becomes that - at his age Thomas was already a 0.6ppg player in the NHL.
