More than 1 in 10 nursery staff say they often hear children swearing - #parenting What do you do if someone swears in front of your child? Do you swear at home? What would you do if your child swore? #childhood#childdevelopment#earlyyears
Our Year 1 & 2 #BeaconBoys enjoyed an incredible, inspiring visit from author and illustrator @RobBiddulph this morning. They loved listening to his stories, learning how to draw a dinosaur and hearing how #perseverance and hard work can turn dreams into reality. @GoodNews_Schls
@yourown2feet Firstly learning how to speak and answer questions withthout so much hesitation and scoffing. And then to support parents win the question they have asked rather than telling them all to enroll in online maths courses. Rigid timings do not suit all households or children.
Our #BeaconBoys are ready and looking forward to welcoming our guests to this morning's Open Day - 10am-12noon. Come along and let them show you their incredible school, of which they are very proud. #OpenMorning#OpenDay @GoodNews_Schls
This is a battle I faced when trying to create a neutral environment when the rest of the school was aiming for bold and bright and busy. So important to consider children's sensory needs when planning their learning environment. #earlyyears#earlyyearsmum#childdevelopment
You might have already seen this. I was sent it over the weekend by Erim, from my Leicester Project. The right environment can be SO useful in supporting learning. If we get it wrong then we can sabotage ourselves before we have even got going. https://t.co/P6qzLLLxuz
@beckymcateer I think a lot of it comes down to managements lack of understanding of Early Years and child development. They aim to please parents and visually think bright and bold is the way forward.

We enjoyed a fascinating Keep Yourself Safe Day at school yesterday, welcoming visitors from @ThamesVP @Bucksfire and @NSPCC to speak to our boys. It was such a valuable day, huge thanks to all involved. For the full story see https://t.co/fZ11nTg2Re #BeaconBoys#SpeakOutStaySafe
"The problem is not that pregnant women are being told too much, rather that they are being told too little" Well said by @janemerrick23 https://t.co/FEjE4OZyy9
@loosewomen I think it was so helpful for me to hear honest birth stories from my close friends as it helped prepare me for what was to come. It can help anxiety to know that things are 'normal' or happen to someone else.
Would you ever smack your child? Rebecca Jane says she smacks her young children and should be allowed to, whereas Hilary Freeman says striking a child is just as bad as striking an adult, but what do you think?

Listening to an interview where a parent is talking about giving 'a loving smack' when she loses control and claims her children are 'not affected and tough'. Is there such a thing as a loving smack?
