Important to read if you’re interested in #Earth2 or the upcoming #Essence #token release 🌏✌️

I know we have been quiet on the public front recently, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes, but I’d like to provide you all with a little update on some important current & upcoming #Earth2 topics around the #Essence #token & other developments in progress.

#Essence is a little bit different from other #tokens given the various #utility options it will provide its holders over time via the #metaverse platform we're developing. For this reason, most people may end up keeping their #Essence on the #Earth2 platform for future opportunities such as the broadcasting system, building, powering, staking, voting, and other planned utility, but the option to withdraw that #Essence to a personal wallet, into #web3, completely separate from #Earth2 in order to store or trade at an external price determined by #Essence holders, is also no doubt a big deal and important step for our project and platform.

As I have mentioned many times in the past, #web3 is still in its infancy and still emerging. It’s more or less impossible to predict what the next few months look like in this space, let alone the next few years. Governments are still figuring out how it fits into their typical financial frameworks not to mention domestic/global compliance – and to be honest they are faced with many complicated issues they need to find legally binding solutions for.

Look at the recent development with UniSwap and the SEC. Irrespective of my personal opinion, this alone has resulted in us now once again being forced to seek further legal advice on potential ramifications of us even setting up an initial swap on a UniSwap DEX, of all places! This is the type of thing we sadly need to expect and be cautious of moving into #web3, not only due to government legislating but the clear reluctancy of the fiat and banking industry to adopt, or even co-exist, with #web3.

To put your minds at ease, us seeking legal advice will NOT postpone or delay the release of the token, everything is still on schedule, it just means we may not be able to setup the initial swap on UniSwap, it is best to assume this as the case until we update otherwise (we're likely not going to be able to lead on this type of thing, but we will be watching how things unfold closely). Having said this, I believe we can still release the smart contract along with the whole system which will allow Players to withdraw their #Essence tokens to their wallets, deposit and basically do with the token as they please.

Ironically, I believe this is how #web3 should be functioning, allowing the community and holders of the token to decide when, where and how it's traded instead of projects setting up specifically to pump and dump. Our approach may even open up more opportunities for the community long term to set up their own swapping options without the influence of the actual project itself. I believe long term organic growth that is in line with our development over time is more desirable.

I cannot stress enough, we need to be clear that #Earth2 is providing this option to its Players first & foremost, because Players wanted a place to trade #Essence as a #token, externally on #web3. I don't want to jeopardise the project. For this to work, people need to understand that #Earth2 is not making any guarantees on its trading price & is not responsible for the trading price of the #token, this needs to be accepted as a commodity / utility #token & holders of the #token have the ability to trade freely in an external environment separate from #Earth2. So there is no “hey Earth 2” or “hey Shane” – I don’t like the token price, do something!

#Web3 really is a minefield out there and my plan is to approach it with caution while still remaining as compliant as possible, allowing us to continue with our long term goal of building a geolocational #metaverse. This is one reason we have initially implemented systems that require some levels of manual interaction from our team with regards to token movement, at least to be begin with, so we can ensure all is working as planned before looking at ways to automate.

We need to start the journey somewhere, and excitingly that start is right on our doorstep now. Here are a few things to consider & a few other comments to round off this little update:

Is the token going to skyrocket in value as soon as it’s released?

I don’t know. We are here to build a #metaverse, not pump a #token. If people see value in the #token and what we are building over time, growth should come organically.

Are we going to see huge volumes?

I don’t know. But not expecting it for a while as many will likely keep their #Essence in platform and as we know, many are reserved on the price they want to sell for.

Does it provide an opportunity for those claiming they would sell their Essence for pennies if they had the chance?

Yes, I think it’s a good thing if they are cleared out early leaving those who value the potential of holding their #Essence, but it will be interesting to see whether those who have made such statements in the past do end up selling for the pennies they claimed they would sell for over such a long period of time.

Will I need ETH to withdraw my Essence to my wallet?

No. We understand many of our Players are new to #web3 and don’t have any crypto holdings yet. To at least make the first step easier for our #Players, we have been working on a system that will allow Players to pay for the transfer in E$. We have also been working on our internal batching system, meaning withdrawals should only cost the #Player E$1-$2 when processed (keep in mind this is based on the current price of ETH which may increase from time to time).

Is Earth 2 going to spread awareness?

Not initially. We will deploy the system, make sure it’s working as planned, this will likely take some time as we need to take extreme care with all of the procedures. Once things seem stable we will start looking at potential awareness campaigns when necessary. I’d also prefer to have some form of E2V1 live before we push anything significant, so will be working hard toward this goal.

Is Earth 2 going to email Players?

Similar to spreading awareness, we will not email hundreds of thousands of Players until the system is stable. We may send out emails to smaller groups of Players, but nothing major until all is stable.

When are the rejections and refunds going to be processed?

This will still occur before the #Essence withdrawal function goes live.

What about the major Resource release with OU detection and generation?

Our team is still working hard on resolving issues here, one at a time. It was a major release and many issues have already been resolved. We will continue focusing on fixes and improvements, but we do not expect it to be fully stable before the #token launches with the withdrawal system.

It is very important to note that this video is a mixture of #WIP footage taken throughout the year during development & testing of:

1️⃣ 🌴 the implementation and testing of our global biome system

2️⃣ 🌊 our water system which not only looks nice, but spans the entire planet and for the most part handles correct directional flow of water mass

3️⃣ 🍁 the early stages of our seasonal system, facilitating for the transition of vegetation and environments into spring, summer, fall and winter

4️⃣ 🧍 early testing on our NPC system with simple navigation and various states of animation to clearly convey their feeling or current activity

5️⃣ 🐟 early testing of our first animal system spawning various sea animals into bodies of water in various locations

6️⃣ 🚢 further testing of our logistics system, with vehicles and ships moving on, over and through the terrain

7️⃣ 🏢 further testing of our megacity system, pushing the limits for larger megacities with an awesome view distance

You will find little bugs if you look hard enough so it's important to understand it's a #WIP! We just thought we would share some of the footage because it came together nicely.

All in all we have made some really good progress through 2023 not only via #feature releases on the website but also development & progress on #E2V1.

I also have a few things I'd like to say before it releases:

We're not saying this footage of E2V1 is special because it looks 'so good' .. we're saying it's cool because it's functioning on a global scale without loading screens.

You can zoom in from space to a blade of grass, continuously move from one side of the world to the other, all in-engine without loading screens at a level of detail 'we think' looks pretty good.

All footage is recorded in-engine.
No prerendering.
No loading screens.

Please consider before ridiculing or comparing us to game studios which have teams into the hundreds or thousands of developers and have historically released multiple AAA quality titles on limited map sizes often much smaller than New York.

In comparison the space of New York City (778.2km2) accounts for 0.000152% of the map size inside E2V1 (510,072,000km2).

Please also remember that we are only a relatively small team who while already working against all odds, have had a very hard time expanding and attracting the right talent to join our team largely due to the very public accusations made toward us in over 50+ videos on @YouTube from influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers containing mostly incorrect or misconstrued details with the overall intention of labelling us a scam.

This continued irrespective of the fact we kept building product, showing progress and implemented AML, KYC and numerous other processes required to follow various compliance regulations around the world and have processed well over $20M USD in withdrawals.

It's a hard pill to swallow when you interview talent and they are keen to come on board only to have them turn around and suddenly say 'oh wait, I just saw you guys are a scam on youtube' then walk away, or have agreements with companies fall over because they don't like the bad publicity, or have internal team members blackmail you or try to rip you off. It can ruin a legitimate business.

I know I caused some of the problems when after 10 months or so I finally retaliated, especially with the challenge I issued, I apologise for that. I was already struggling with them targeting me all the time or misconstruing details about #Earth2 but when they started targeting our developers, who were just doing their job, I snapped and felt the need to stand up for my team mates, but I did it in the wrong way, so I'm sorry for that.

At least one influencer has since deleted a number of his anti-Earth2 videos and we sincerely appreciate that (I would tag his name but I am not sure he wants the attention so will just leave it), and we also appreciate the fact the videos have stopped for the most part of this year, but a lot of the damage was done with millions of people being influenced by the historic videos and led to believe, and still believe, we are a scam. We still have random people pop up calling us this and being surprised we're still around.

The team members who stood with us though have been amazing, working in the face of adversity and putting so much time and effort into good progress, especially for a small team. I hope we can start attracting new talent and expand the team further next year.

I also don't know where I would be without the support of my family, the team and especially a number of you in the community. You guys pulled me out of some very, very dark places throughout those difficult months more than once, I appreciate you sticking up for #Earth2 and sticking up for me, though a lot of the time it fell on deaf ears.

We're still not there yet and we still have a lot to do. I'm not pretending this is the end. For example, we have been focusing on networking and will continue to do this, working out a long term strategy to make steady progress. And there are many other things, but it all takes time, especially with a small team.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for your support and passion - I hope you enjoy the footage and the progress it shows today. Remember, this progress is the result of a small team and a lot of blood, sweat and tears in the face of absolute adversity, it has not been easy and I'd be lying if I said I didn't shed a few tears watching it while thinking about what we've been through.

I look forward to continuing on this journey together 🙏

While the #Earth2 land upgrade system will be easy to use, it will also support strategies that provide opportunities short term, long term & very long term. Some opportunities will manifest instantly, some days or weeks #postlaunch while others may takes months or years.

The design alone will likely cause those interested to spend time pondering their own personal #strategies in great depth, once the details are revealed. The design also gives an opportunity back to #T2 land holders who missed out on #C1 upgrades due to #T1 #RE.

Little tip for #Players who are tethering #ProspectingCydroids in advance:

We plan to start revealing the #ProspectingCydroids for lower #DiscoveryTier #Resources next week, so if you're one of the #Players focusing on this strategy then ensure your properties are named with the relevant #Resource you plan to have #ProspectingCydroids focus on for that particular property, especially if you plan to quickly acquire those #Cydroids from the #Bazaar before the prices shoot up.

Remember, #ProspectingCydroids are not compulsory for collecting #OccurrenceUnits for the lower #DiscoveryTier #Resources, but I understand some #Players are setting up to maximise their #OU collection so if you're one of those #Players then this tip is for you!

More specific #Web3 details will be released as we get closer, but I think it's important the #Earth2 community has some awareness about a couple of things at this point in time. I want to make it clear that we've always had plans to be very cautious with how #Essence will initially leave the platform. So 'very high level', #Players will need #KYC & #2FA to move any #Essence out of their #Earth2 account & there will be a process to improve #Player protection, including potential spot checks.

Though these measures are more cumbersome on #Earth2, they provide our #Players with much better protection against possible ways to unintentionally lose their #Essence, especially those new to #Web3, which I believe is very important.

I just wanted to share this message now so the #Earth2 community understand we're moving into this cautiously & you won't see any time sensitive or sudden requests from us on anything #Web3 related, including sudden time sensitive requests to 'connect your wallet' or 'claim something quickly'.

IF there happens to be anything that is time sensitive then there will be a lot of explanation, build up & forewarning beforehand with validation/details shared across multiple official #Earth2 social accounts, our official website AND likely my twitter (that is AND, not OR).

I know the content of this statement in itself will probably open up a lot of questions, but please wait for the specifics to be released in due course.
