@Pat_wx Where I live in Whitehorse, Yukon, it was -27C when I got up this morning. Crazy. Not to mention the Yukon is buried under record amounts of snow. Spring melt is going to be wild when it comes.
This paragraph by C.S. Lewis, written in 1948, still hits hard:
“If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds.”
Few people know about this brutal deforestation technique called “correntão”, where tractors with huge chains raze the land cutting trees, destroying long standing ecosystems on a whim.
If we don’t give value to nature, we’ll turn Earth into a desert 😕
Milton Friedman said it best:
“Keep your eye on how much the Government is spending, because that is the true tax.
There is no such thing as an unbalanced budget. You PAY FOR IT either in the form of taxes, or indirectly in the form of inflation or debt.”
Fact check: TRUE ✅
Yes! the exact same thing happened to me about 15 years ago. My terrier chased some ducks onto a frozen lake in the spring and broke thru. She couldn't get out of the hole she was in so I jumped in fully clothed and used my elbows to break a channel to her. I barely made it back to shore. No way I was going to watch my dog drown. BRAVO!
@PageauJonathan@jordanbpeterson Yikes! If one wants to explore the type of Gnostic ideas that Jung tries to expound in Aion, IMHO one would be better off reading Ursula K. Le Guin's "The Earth Sea Trilogy." Jung's best book, in my opinion, is "The Undiscovered Self".
It's not just in the U.S.

🟡 Honey is 80% sugars and 20% water.
🟡 To make one pound of honey, the bees in the colony must visit 2 million flowers, fly over 55,000 miles and will be the lifetime work of approximately 768 bees.
🟡 A single honeybee will only produce approximately 1/12 teaspoon of honey in her lifetime.
🟡 A single honey bee will visit 50-100 flowers on a single trip out of the hive.
🟡 Honey is the ONLY food that includes all the substances necessary to sustain life, including enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and water; and it's the only food that contains "pinocembrin", an antioxidant associated with improved brain functioning
