(5/5) Every child deserves the opportunity to experience camp, make friends and enjoy recreational activities in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Accessibility helps make those experiences possible.
(1/5) Recreation and camp experiences help children and youth build confidence, develop friendships and experience a sense of belonging.
For many young people with physical disabilities, however, barriers continue to limit access to these important opportunities.
#NAAW2026
(4/5) At Easter Seals Ontario, we're proud to help create these opportunities through our accessible camp programs.
But more investment in accessible recreation and camping opportunities is needed so more children and youth with physical disabilities can participate.
Our team is proud to be wearing red today in support of #RedShirtDay of Action for Accessibility and Inclusion.
Thank you to everyone across #Ontario and throughout #Canada who has worn red, shared a photo, made a pledge or helped raise awareness today.

Today, we recognize Red Shirt Day® during National AccessAbility Week, a national movement celebrating accessibility, inclusion, and the contributions of Canadians with disabilities.
Red Shirt Day® serves as a reminder that accessibility and inclusion require more than awareness. It requires action to help remove physical, attitudinal, and systemic barriers in our schools, workplaces, and communities.
Let’s take the opportunity to build a more accessible and inclusive future for everyone.

(4/4) Expanding coverage for essential bathing and toileting equipment through Ontario’s Assistive Devices Program would help more children and youth access the supports they need for greater safety, dignity and independence.
#NationalAccessAbilityWeek#NAAW2026
(1/4) Accessibility includes the supports many people never see.
For some children & youth with physical disabilities, specialized bathing and toileting equipment is essential to daily life. Yet many families continue to face significant out-of-pocket costs due to funding gaps.
(3/4) In 2025, we provided funding for 279 bathing and toileting aids.
While we are proud to help reduce barriers for families, the need for support continues to exceed available resources. Access to essential equipment should not depend on a family's financial circumstances.
