@mackcurry704@hottakejose@CharismaDonor@JonesOnTheNBA I didn’t say it can’t be used against him at all. I said it can’t be taken at face value. Me feeling that it can’t be used against him at all would contradict what I said earlier about the importance of remembering the times he actually did cost his team a chip.
@mackcurry704@hottakejose@CharismaDonor@JonesOnTheNBA That’s great, but literally none of that changes my point. Stop acting so simpleminded just for a second. And stop acting like it wasn’t already established in this conversation that you play to win. Please 😂😂😂
@mackcurry704@hottakejose@CharismaDonor@JonesOnTheNBA Yes you do play to win the game. I wasn’t even remotely arguing otherwise. Also, I couldn’t care less about what people did or didn’t do before LeBron’s run because either way, it doesn’t change that taking Finals records at face value is a silly way to judge a player.
@frankgarbs I mean it’s still a team stat. This screenshot isn’t proving that it’s actually a great stat for measuring hitters. Plus the OPS already makes the point that he’s been beyond horrific.
@mackcurry704@hottakejose@CharismaDonor@JonesOnTheNBA And I should add, you of course still absolutely need to dock him for the times his play in the Finals was poor and ended up costing his team a championship. At the same time, it’s important to remember that most of the time, he wasn’t the reason his teams lost in the Finals.
@mackcurry704@hottakejose@CharismaDonor@JonesOnTheNBA ….during his Finals runs where his teams ended up losing in the end. And for the record, I’m not saying any of this to argue that he’s the GOAT. Jordan over him is totally fine, but these kinds of arguments against him are just not in good faith.
@Keaton0613@OleTimeHardball Harper got hit even harder by injuries in 2014, but given the level Cutch was playing at, it’s really, REALLY hard to just assume Harper would’ve matched it if not for that. They were simply worlds apart. 2015 was the first time that Harper actually outplayed him in the decade.
@Keaton0613@OleTimeHardball Also, no, Harper wasn’t a better player than Cutch from year 1. Cutch had a better 2012 season. He also had a better 2013 season. Harper missed noteworthy time that year, but even on just a rate basis, Cutch was superior.
