@NC_Governor I am vaccinated and boosted. Had COVID as well. I’m over masks. Fine me, and I’ll consider it a payment for the privilege not to wear a mask. Done with it. Over it.
@LamuOmarAhmed@thehill@JohnFetterman@SenToomey Although I don’t agree with doing that (I agree it is stupid and dangerous), it has actually been successfully defended in court as free speech and perpetrators were not prosecuted. Stupidity isn’t illegal.
@thehill Regardless of who was right about the election, we should have had a bi-partisan investigation of it. Instead, we tried to bully those who disagreed into conformity. This kind of disrespect always causes hurt...then anger...then sadly, violence.
@thehill I do not condone violence. I do condone respect. We got ourselves into this mess by not listening respectfully to both sides. If one of my students is wrong, I don’t shut him down. I listen and help him discover the truth for himself.
@dkbgeek@Mtns_Whiskey@thehill From a moral perspective, I agree. From a free speech perspective, I disagree. People have a right to say whatever they want, even if wrong. My job is to determine the truth for myself. We can never allow anyone else to tell us what we can think.
@LamuOmarAhmed@thehill@JohnFetterman@SenToomey We MUST allow ALL speech. None should be suppressed. That is a violation of free speech. Most arguments will result in one side proven wrong. That’s why we debate. Each has a right/responsibility to do research and define truth for himself.
@LisaCla79552465@thehill What he speaks is is a lie. ALL speech is protected, even lies. When two opposing opinions are shared, one will always be wrong. Being wrong is not a crime. Being unwilling to allow dissent is a violation of free speech.
@thehill What you speak is the real lie. I am working daily as hard as I can to dispel this myth from the minds of our young. And that right is guaranteed. Period.
@thehill You are mistaken. We all have the right to say whatever we want. It is my job to research and to determine truth for myself. No one may determine truth for another. Fortunately I have a platform from which to teach this daily to scores of teens/young adults.
@AOC Agreed. But it is my job, though, to determine truth vs. a lie. We can never attempt to force our definition of truth on others. People still have the right speak lies. If their lies hurt me, I have the legal system through which I can seek damages.
@HowardSchechte2@AdamParkhomenko This is what’s wrong with America now. This amounts to corporate bullying. Agree or not with them, they have every right to exist without change. No one has the right to control what I say or choose to hear. How dare you applaud or encourage censorship.
What matters most to peace and tranquility is perception. What people perceive is their reality. Regardless of political persuasion, every voice must be heard. Silencing people only deepens anger. Respect means listening. That’s how people come to the truth.
What happened today in Washington happens when people believe that their voices and concerns are ignored. Even if we disagree, we must be willing to listen. All who are trusted to be leaders in any capacity would be wise to remember this day as an example of how not to lead.
Okay...I may be missing something here, but no matter your political leanings, we Americans deserve a debate that rises above two grown men behaving like name-calling children. What about the issues?
Just wanted to remind everyone to pray for our nation and pray for revival. One day, and maybe soon, Christ will return. Let’s unite to help God produce a bountiful harvest.
@AlexBerenson@JohnCassidy The more I read these posts, the more I realize that we Americans are far more alike and different, despite what the media tells us. We’d better wake up and get control of our country back before someone successfully wrenches our democracy out from under us.
I’m just curious...the first amendment guarantees free speech. Period. If you live in America, you have the right to say whatever you want, whether or not anyone else agrees with it without fear of censorship or reprisal. Is there anyone who would actually disagree with that?
Please stand up against allowing mail-in voting, not only this fall, but ever. I believe this is a ploy by the left to hijack otherwise fair elections. There is no way to guarantee security.
Christmas honors the birth of Christ. It has no other purpose. Should we then forbid Christmas? Should we also forbid the MLK holiday b/c Dr. King may have offended someone?https://t.co/XOjgU3P5O9
