Three days. Powerful conversations. Shared learning. Collective action.Participants leave with strengthened knowledge, renewed partnerships & a shared commitment to advancing strategic litigation, advocacy & law reform across the Eastern Caribbean.
The work doesn't end here.
Attorney-at-Law Veronica Cenac reflected on key milestones, lessons learned, and the roadmap that continues to guide advocacy and law reform efforts in the Caribbean.
Participants worked together to identify opportunities for law reform, advocacy, & stronger human rights protections across the Eastern Caribbean. Through dialogue & shared experiences, new ideas emerged to help shape a more inclusive future.
#HumanRights#LawReform#Advocacy
Participants presented innovative ideas and practical solutions aimed at strengthening human rights protections and advancing equality throughout the region.
The Caribbean is one of the regions of the world where there is a trend toward the decriminalization of homosexuality. Five countries have decriminalized it since 2022, including Saint Lucia last year. Others may follow. I am pleased to be in Castries to encourage this movement and to offer France’s support, through @EC_Equality, to more than 30 organizations in 11 countries.
Today, we are looking at strategic litigation efforts in the Eastern Caribbean and are working with civil society stakeholders to develop a roadmap to protect and promote the rights of vulnerable and marginalized people.
From personal stories of resilience to discussions on legislative reform & strategic advocacy, the roundtable served as a reminder that lasting change is built through collaboration, courage, and collective action.
#EqualityUnboundII#HumanRights#ConstitutionalDialogue#Advocacy
Equality Unbound II: Activism, Rights and Constitutional Dialogue brought together advocates, legal experts, community leaders, and regional partners for critical conversations on human rights, constitutional reform, and the future of equality in the Caribbean.
Through powerful testimonies, insightful presentations, and meaningful dialogue, participants explored the progress made, the challenges that remain, and the opportunities that lie ahead in advancing dignity, justice, and inclusion for all.
Equality Unbound II: Activism, Rights and Constitutional Dialogue
It was a powerful start to the gathering here in Saint Lucia as we kicked off the round table dialogue with Civil Society Organizations, Donors and community members .
We are pleased to join @EC_Equality for Equality Unbound as we talk about activism and human rights with advocates and activists from across the Caribbean.
