@GlasgowBookworm Don't know if they're on Audible, but Andy Serkis (Gollum, and he's he does voices/accents in audiobooks as well) has read several audiobooks (Tolkien, Pratchett and others) and so far I find that Discworld books in general lend themselves very well to the audio format.

I'm currently reading Crescent City 3 by @SJMaas and I have about 100 pages left to go. It's an SJM book.

I'm not sure I'm ready yet for whatever twist and turn and emotional upheaval is coming my way.

Maybe pull a Joey and put the book on ice?

Actually I do know: it's no. 2. I think there's an underlying mix of annoyance towards NTs, growing self-awareness and self-acceptance that's basically saying 🖕 to always hiding and adjusting to others

@iconawrites Totally for DNF-ing a book if it feels like a chore to read it, but as someone who can have trouble sittting still and who is overly tempted by screens... putting reading on my To Do list as a chore does actually help me to sit down and make the choice to read.

I've recently started using audiobooks and they just may be what truly shows the quality of the writing. So far I've read Rowling - plot holes galore made extra apparent -, Tolkien and Pratchett. The latter two hold up beautifully. Food for thought.

Finished my book. Can't put into words what it's about somehow, but it's a good read. The kinda thing that sticks in your brain and makes you think for a while after you're finished with the actual pages.

August wrap up! The vibe was SciFi. 7 book were off my TBR mountain, which is not bad at all.

@timmckay52 So I like to binge read and reread series. It annoys the living shit out of me when pages are filled with reminders and (unneeded) reminiscing of the in-story past.

A nice page or two at the start with a summary is lovely and much appreciated.
