Trump just announced 300,000 metric tons of beef imported tariff-free over 90 days with a 25% discount promise.

Brazil hit their tariff rate quota in 6 days. Their tariff is 26.44%. The 25% discount is a wash for JBS. They pay the same price and flood the US market.

300,000 metric tons is more than we import in three months. If this goes to one country, they can import 100% of their lean trim into the US at the same cost they were paying before.

All fingers point to JBS. The biggest meat packer in the world. The company whose owners went to prison for bribing 18,000 Brazilian politicians.

This does not give space for the American beef herd to grow. It gives Brazil market leverage over every domestic producer.
