The European Conference on Health Communication provides a platform for scientists to discuss the role of communication about health and health-related issues.
It’s officially a wrap! 🎁 We would like to thank all the presenters for the interesting presentations, the keynote speakers for their fascinating talks, and of course the board and organizing team for making this conference a success! 🙌
Time goes by too quickly and it’s already time for the final keynote and closing ceremony of the conference! Koen Wauters will discuss COVID-19 from a science-journalistic perspective. 🗞 After that, it’s time to close, and there may be awards involved… Don’t miss it! 🏆
Today at 10am CET, you’ll get the chance to meet editors from three different journals and ask them any questions you have about writing and publishing! ✍️ 📓
Hope you enjoyed yesterday’s presentations! Today is filled with a bunch of other interesting presentations as well! 🤩 Go check out the programme here: https://t.co/ROr39S9l6T
Why do young people share alcohol use on social media? Are heuristic or more reasoned mechanisms at play? I will provide some answers on these questions tomorrow at the @ECHC2021 (11.15h-12.15h).
The discussion of failure in academia @ECHC2021 was personal, honest & uplifting. It should be normal to talk about it.
For the record, my own examples were a journal desk-rejection that didn't hurt much and a grant rejection that still hurts. But some good has come out of both.
Many thanks to @elenasemino for your inspiring session about academic failures today at @ECHC2021! Empowering to get to openly talk about these kinds of insecurities together ✨💫
Earlier today, Nynke Bos presented the results of her first PhD study @ECHC2021. Her first presentation at an international conference, and she rocked!🤩Proud co-supervisor - with @oerlemansanke, Lisa Vandeberg and Marlies Hulscher @IQhealthcare @Radboud_Uni@CLSRadboud
A day of two extremes today, I got to present our work on COVID-19 conspiracy beliefs and media use at @ECHC2021 (which I consider an accomplishment😜) and I shared my grant rejection in a very valuable and interesting PhD panel about academic failures with @elenasemino#GoodDay
After a first day full of interesting presentations, it’s time to relax! 💆♀️ Our pub quiz is planned for 5pm CET.
💡No need to register beforehand, just join in with the special Quiz Zoom link you received per e-mail!
I had to leave a bit early to join some work meetings, but I’ve had a very interesting day @ECHC2021. Especially enjoyed presentations from @isabelle_cuykx, @KatrienMaldoy, @GaelleOuvrein, and @pauliendecorte. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Our first ECHC PhD Panel “Academic Failures, Drivers for Future Success” with Elena Semino is about to start in an hour at 3:30pm CET. Let’s open up the conversation on the opportunities “failing” in academia can bring! 🍀🤞
