This amazing group of ATPE members participated in our latest Capitol Expedition Tuesday, visiting office after office to remind House members of ATPE's positions on the critical votes they will take today:
*ATPE opposes voucher bill SB 2 but strongly supports amendments that would put vouchers to a statewide vote.
*ATPE supports school finance bill HB 2 but urges adoption of amendments that would specify a hard dollar amount for educator pay increases and amendments that would increase or redirect funding for the Basic Allotment.

Honoring our namesake and hero Christa McAuliffe today, the 38th Anniversary of The Challenger. We learned how hard she worked to become both a teacher and an astronaut; that her legacy for us was to DREAM BIG! Thank you Christa for your vision and bravery! @McAHighlander

Dallas Cowboy legend, future NFL Hall of Famer and head coach of the state champion @LibertyArgyle football team, @JasonWitten paid a visit on Friday to Teresa’s House Assisted Living and Memory Care in Argyle to thank residents for their support during the season. Liberty Christian School and Teresa’s House are neighbors and partners with a regular and growing slate of activities involving the students and residents. Witten shared stories of the season and how proud he was of the team, with a special emphasis on the Christian values they are teaching while teaching football. Considered one of the greatest tight ends of all time, he shared that his favorite memory was when he was drafted he received the call from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones while sitting in his grandparents’ living room.
