The 14th Amendment was born out of the ashes of slavery and Dred Scott. Its purpose was to make clear that Black people — especially formerly enslaved African Americans and their descendants — could not be denied citizenship, dignity, or equal protection under the law.

All the reasons she gave for choosing KC were about how he made her feel, how he was always there for her, and how much he did for her. Not once did she talk about what she actually loves, admires, or values about him as a person. She chose him because of what he provided, not because of who he is.

It literally proves KC’s point when he said he poured into her while she never poured back into him.
