Cogta Deputy Minister Prince Burns Ncamashe and MEC Williams engaged with the Nigerian High Commission and the Rharhabe Kingdom following concerns over an alleged coronation. Nigeria apologised and reaffirmed strong bilateral ties, presenting three cows as a gesture of goodwill.

20 Bursaries were awarded to Traditional Leaders to enhance
their governance competencies.
.Created 40 963 public employment opportunities, exceeding the target of 36 170.
.Implemented the Risk Adjusted Strategy in 36 municipalities, improving infrastructure
expenditure.

Tabling the 2026 Policy Speech MEC Williams says among achievements are
.Strengthened ethical governance through anti-corruption frameworks and compliance measures.

MEC Zolile Williams is set to table the Department of Cogta EC Policy speech , at the EC Legislature, where he will detail strategic priorities and budget allocation for the upcoming financial year. The speech also establishes the direction for service delivery and operations.

Yesterday MEC for ECCogta, Zolile Williams launched the second leg of the Non- Negotiables Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) booklet 📚🎉👏💥. The event took place at the Nangoza Jebe Hall in Gqeberha!!!

The MEC for COGTA, Xolile Williams will convene the Provincial Political MuniMEC Forum meeting at Dans Lodge, Umtata from 19-20 February 2026. 🗓️🤝

The Forum is an IGR platform aimed at addressing service delivery issues confronting municipalities.

Today, 7 October, MEC for EC Cogta will table the departments Annual Report for 2024/25 financial year .This process ensures transparency and accountability, as the report officially becomes a public document to be reviewed for the implementation of budgets and strategic plans.
