Progress in motor vehicle search disparities-

African-Americans are now 3.0x more likely to be searched compared to White motorists--an troubling equity but nonetheless dramatic improvement from 4.0x more likely in 2016.

Disparities for Hispanic motorists remain unchanged.

Sectors that lost the most jobs (seasonally adj.) in June were Construction (-400) and private education services (-500).

With news of more small, independent colleges closing across the country, how do Vermont's remaining institutions fare?

One metric that can be used to gauge financial health of non-profits is the ratio of aggregate expenses to net assets #vtpoli #vted

@teachermugabo No suggestions are being made. Net assets include all instutional assets (land, buildings, computers and physical equipment, endowment, cash reserves, etc) less liabilities (outstanding debt).

Middlebury's $1.12B endowment makes up bulk of their $1.23B net assets

@exocited Only included are active colleges (Marlboro is in a unique situation since its technically merging due to a much stronger financial position--33% ratio--that Burlington College or GMC).

Green Mountain's expenses made up a staggering 776% of their net assets the year before they closed, while Burlington College's ratio of 534% was still nearly double Sterling's (272%) and Goddard's (191%).
