They are also comparing how students respond to the face-to-face simulation versus the virtual one to see which method works better. Student feedback so far has been very positive.
This week, a group of midwifery students took part in a hands-on training program to help them learn how to support patients going through the heartbreaking experience of miscarriage.
Drs. Fernandez and Swift are studying whether this training improves students’ skills, confidence, and knowledge when handling these difficult situations.
The MLK Day of Service is the second large day of service that the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement offers throughout the year. It is an easy way to volunteer in the community without having to volunteer on your own or navigate finding potential sites on your own.
There are three parts of a day of service at ECU:
1. Check-In & Kick-off with Keynote Speaker in MCSC Blackbox Theater (9:00-10:00 AM)
2. Service at various locations (10:30 AM - 12:30 PM - two hours)
3. Reflection & Closing in MCSC Blackbox Theater (1:00-2:00 PM)
We’re Back for the Spring Semester!
East Carolina University College of Nursing is thrilled to welcome our new and returning Pirate Nursing Students as we kick off another semester of learning, growth, and excellence.
Together, we’re creating a brighter, healthier future. Major kudos to our faculty and staff who put the orientation programs together. Also, thanks to our academic practice partners from ECU Health as they joined us to welcome our students.
We are accepting applications through January 15 for priority placement in our Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner programs.
