This week, six districts opened their doors to a conversation about Rwanda's Dual TVET model and what it would take to make it work for the people it is meant to serve. Never Again Rwanda partnered with local leaders and community members to convene citizen assemblies across these districts, while our teams also facilitated two youth roundtables and organized a capacity strengthening workshop for grassroots youth-led organizations. What came back was honest, grounded, and worth sharing.

Our panel discussion on Human Rights in Everyday Life: Progress and Experiences in Rwanda explored how human rights are experienced in daily life, the progress made over the years, and the challenges that remain.
Panelists reflected on the importance of understanding both rights and responsibilities, noting that while laws and policies exist to protect fundamental rights, gaps in awareness, implementation, and enforcement can sometimes limit their full realization.

In his keynote address, the first Secretary at the Embassy of Sweden in Rwanda (@SwedeninRW), Oskar Karnebäck, reflected that Human rights are universal and belong to every person by virtue of being human, regardless of origin, religion, political views, or sexual orientation. He emphasized that placing the individual at the center of policy and governance is fundamental to protecting human dignity and freedom.
