Don't be alarmed 🚨 Some fire hydrants are getting a fresh coat of paint this summer. Before the hydrant gets a shiny new coat of red, it is painted with a yellow primer which takes a few hours to dry. The painter will be back to get your hydrant looking brand new!
Update [as of 7:45 p.m. June 24]: CenterPoint Energy has stopped the natural gas leak. Residents who have been affected by the leak are allowed to return home and all streets in the area will soon reopen. No injuries were reported; there is no further danger to the public.
