Searching further afield for interesting music, we came across an exceptional work by Cristoph Buel (1574-1631). Exciting to bring it to a new audience! Buel, from Nuremburg, was a composer & public official. and “highly regarded by his contemporaries".

The newly-acquired symphonie (or hurdy girdy) will by demonstrated during the Viol Rackett Show at this year's Fringe Festival. Tickets £10 and children free (but need a ticket). It's fun to watch and hear!

It's hard to believe the Edinburgh Renaissance Band has been performing at the Fringe since 1973. The earliest fringe brochure I could find, from 1975, has the WHOLE fringe programme printed on 1 doublesided sheet of paper! Were you in that audience then, and still coming along?
