In de loop der jaren zijn er incidenten geweest waarbij (oud-)politici of raadsleden van D66 in opspraak zijn geraakt vanwege vermeende criminele activiteiten of ernstige integriteitsschendingen.

Hieronder volgen enkele bekende voorbeelden gebaseerd op nieuwsberichten:

* Drugshandel (2018): Een D66-raadslid uit de Friese gemeente Tytsierksteradiel werd in november 2018 aangehouden op verdenking van handel in XTC en hennep.

* Ontucht (2018): Een voormalig D66-raadslid werd VEROORDEELD tot een celstraf voor ontucht met een 14-jarige.

* Verduistering (2003): Een voormalig landelijk voorzitter van D66 (Wim Vrijhoef) werd VEROORDEELD tot 21 maanden cel wegens verduistering van geld van de partij.

* Me Too-affaire (2022): Sidney Smeets stapte in 2021 op als Tweede Kamerlid na beschuldigingen van grensoverschrijdend gedrag (sexueel getinte berichten naar minderjarige jongens).
Daarnaast was Smeets een voorstander om de pedopartij Martijn niet te verbieden (hij was zelfs de advocaat).

* In 2022 ontstond ophef over de manier waarop de partijtop omging met meldingen over een andere partijprominent (Van Drimmelen), waarbij gesproken werd over een doofpot Integriteit (2014): Er was ophef over een D66-wethouder met een strafblad.

* 29 okt 2024 - Opruiing tot geweld tegen Tweede Kamerlid: Apeldoorner VEROORDEELD.

Germany currently has about 26 gigawatt hours of battery storage. Most of it sits in home batteries with only 4.3 gigawatt hours actually serving the grid.

Building that storage already cost more than 10 billion euros and at national demand levels it only covers roughly 30 minutes of summer electricity usage.

The winter months bring what's known as "Dunkeflaute" - cold dark windless periods and higher energy usage.

To survive a 10-day winter lull (the minimum realistic requirement), Germany would need about 12,000 gigawatt hours of batteries, 470 times today's storage.

Such a system would weigh roughly 60 million tons and would be made from vast quantities of lithium, nickel, graphite, copper, aluminum and steel, all requiring intensive mining.

At current battery prices, the system would cost trillions of euros. And batteries last only 10 to 15 years, meaning the entire system would need constant replacement.

The conclusion is unavoidable...

Wind and solar require reliable backup power, renewables need oil, coal, gas and nuclear.

De samenleving verarmt en is druk met deze handel. Het BBP neemt toe, maar wij produceren niets.

Ik moet ze nageven dat dit één van de sterkste psychologische operaties is waarmee groep 6 leerstof over de koolstofcyclus gewist werd uit het collectieve geheugen en plaatsmaakte voor de angst dat een gas dat 0,04% van de atmosfeer uitmaakt, vanaf nu een probleem veroorzaakt.

Hoe dit kon gebeuren? Door de wetenschap te kapen dmv een epistemische gemeenschap, ontworpen door Peter Haas. Zoek hem maar eens op. Hij begon met zure regen, daarna het gat in de ozonlaag om uiteindelijk via klimaatverandering richting IPCC te gaan. Allemaal epistemische gemeenschappen die de beleidsmakers adviseren en wetenschappers weren met een andere mening of conclusie.
