Police officers under the guise of "anti cultism" or whatever they're called, is fast becoming SARS 2.0". They do pack a bus on the bridge in the morning at CMS, and randomly pick boys(apparently innocent), force them into the packed bus and start extortion. @segalink@DrJoeAbah
#mufc are scouring Europe for potential replacements for JJ Gabriel. Club chiefs are now resigned to the fact that Gabriel is leaving Old Trafford.
One option to replace Gabriel in their pool of young players is 16-year-old RC Lens talent Mezian Mesloub who has been scouted extensively by the recruitment department at United [@alex_crook]
I survived a whole kidnapping attempt.
I lived under Anas's protection for months with armed police assigned on permanent patrol outside the house. If you're familiar with Ghana, you know how unusual it is to see police patrolling with machine guns in public.
When I eventually had to go hide in Kenya for a while in 2023, I was switching short lets every week because I was a whole fugitive. I wrote a 590-page book about this. That book was on @Rovingheights's 2024 bestsellers list.
And though all this, after selling 30% of West Africa Weekly for $30,000, I used some of that money to fund a federal case in the US for the specific purpose of "holding my government accountable" - the exact same federal case that is still the closest thing that exists to an actual challenge to your president's power in Nigeria.
I physically served papers to the US Department of Justice and lit myself on fire to "hold leadership accountable" so what the fuck are these people talking about? People who have never even sent a written petition to their local council chairman are attacking someone who has taken a sitting president plus the FBI, DOJ, CIA, IRS, DEA and State Department to court for "not holding leaders accountable"?
Is everybody in Nigeria high on crack cocaine?
Five days into my next undercover investigation, set to be released by @fijnigeria later this week, I sent the picture in Frame 1 to my three-man backroom team. They all laughed at me, one of them remarking I looked “like a fisherman”.
The pictures in frames 2 and 3 are from my 44th day on the field. Nobody was in ebullient mood this time. They all screamed instead. None of them could say it, but I knew I could pass for a mad man on the streets.
Meanwhile, Frame 4 is who I was before I embarked on the project.
It is the first time ever that I’ve given the public a glimpse into the making of an undercover investigation. I do it this time to contextualise public understanding of the physical, material and mental cost of investigative reporting. Behind every daring work of investigation you have read is several weeks, sometimes months, of self-sacrifice by the journalist.
Of higher importance, I do it to remind younger journalists that investigative journalism isn’t the white-collar stardom propeller many seem to think it is; more often than not, it is about getting your hands dirty while still believing this is hands down the best job in the world!
It feels good to be fully back on social media after nearly five months out…
@planox09 They're placing him on pedestal again.
He places better when he's on his toes... See his time at Barca - He couldn't afford to play bad whenever he gets a rare starts.
I pity Carrick
This one got me very emotional.

They said we have no structure. Let's show them the structure!
Debunking the Phantom Debts and Ecological Loan Fallacy
My attention has been drawn to trending claims by the Anambra State Government that my administration left behind inherited debts, including a ₦2 billion ecological loan, contractor liabilities, and unpaid salaries, gratuities, and pensions. This is completely false.
We systematically liquidated historical gratuities and arrears dating back several years, amounting to over ₦35 billion. At the point of handover, the state owed nothing in salaries, gratuities, or pensions, nor did we owe anything to any contractor for projects duly executed and certified.
The ₦2 billion ecological fund in question was released barely three months before the end of my tenure for the Oko/Umuchiana erosion crisis. Despite pressure to spend the money, I refused, insisting that it should be left for my successor because government is a continuum and the funds were tied to a specific project.
The money was therefore left 100 per cent intact in First Bank, in Account No. 2018779464, with a balance of over ₦2.13 billion.
It is important to stress that funds tied to specific projects or set aside for particular purposes were not even included in the over ₦75 billion in savings we left behind.
If anybody can establish anything to the contrary, I will stop campaigning. -PO
The IPO decision, I'd leave that for now.
Focusing on the VFD transaction, you are actually up 48% (on average) without dividends.
▪︎ VFD listed on the NGX on 6 October 2023 at ₦269.30/share
▪︎ In 2024, VFD issued 4 bonus shares for every 1 share held. One old share therefore became 5 shares.
▪︎ In 2025, VFD subsequently did another 5-for-1 bonus issue, meaning every existing share received five additional shares.
▪︎ So, assuming you qualified for both bonus issues, 1 original share effectively became 30 shares(1 × 5 × 6 = 30 shares).
▪︎ Your ₦269.30 purchase price translates to an adjusted cost of roughly ₦269.30 ÷ 30 = ₦8.98 per current share.
▪︎ At today's quoted ₦11.50, those 30 shares are worth 30 × ₦11.50 = ₦345.00
▪︎ ₦269.30 → ₦345.00 = +28.1%, before considering any dividend.
▪︎ Your second purchase at ₦205 would similarly have an adjusted cost of approximately ₦6.83 per current share if it qualified for both distributions. At ₦11.50, that tranche would be up roughly 68%.
▪︎ In summary, your ₦269.30 cost is actually ₦8.98. And your ₦205.00 cost is actually ₦6.83.
▪︎ At current ₦11.50 price, you'd have been up by 28% on the first tranche, and by 68% on the second tranche.
Therefore, I am afraid, this VFD example is not representative of the point being made.
