The constant reassurances and leaks coming from club-friendly journalists were, as I have always told you, a poor reflection of what was actually happening behind the scenes, and anyone aware of the extensive work being carried out in the background would have recognised that the public narrative and the actual reality inside the industry were two very different things.

I repeatedly told you not to place too much attention on those reports, as many were instructed to preserve calm and stability until the end of the season. Meanwhile, as I have consistently reported, senior club figures, particularly Richard Hughes, have remained in ongoing contact with IDUB Global since December, despite much of the media narrative suggesting otherwise, and time has once again proven my reporting correct, remaining, as always, my greatest ally.

To those who belong to Liverpool Football Club, that rare place where football transcends sport and drifts into folklore, the pleasure was once again mine. Savour the moment beneath the red horizon of Merseyside, because this summer still has many pages left to write.
