Do birds really understand us? Tweety is a house sparrow that I rescued 2 years ago. No rehabilitator would take him and was only given a 40 percent chance of survival. He is unreleasable according to our state wildlife biologist. He has become part of our family since.

At the moment we took this photo, we were looking at this stellar nursery as it was 5,000 years into the past. This heavenly rose, the Rosette Nebula (NGC 2237) in Monoceros (the Unicorn) surrounds a cluster of young stars in its center (NGC 2244)

Spending a quiet night with the universe is very relaxing for me. To think that the light from these two galaxies, M81 and M82, traveling at 186,282 miles per second, took about 12 million years to reach the camera sensor. It’s mind-boggling!
