This fascinating study looks at the relationship between % protein and diet quality based on the NHANES data. You may have guessed that a higher protein % aligns with a higher diet quality.

But the cool nugget in the study is this chart that shows a low risk of dying of any cause.

The worst outcome aligns with 15% protein (i.e. the standard American diet). Plant-based peeps with a very low protein diet are doing better than the average American. But those on the high-protein % diet are thriving with the lowest risk!

I also find it weird that it's the Chinese doing the analysis on the US data and finding these nuggets while everyone else is talking about reducing protein and nutrient targets.
