“The biggest challenge is always wanting to make money fast. In investing, that guarantees a bad outcome.” — Bill Ackman
Most people don’t lose because they’re wrong. They lose because they’re in a hurry.
Types of stocks on the NGX and what they actually mean:
1. Blue chips: The big proven names. Dangote Cement, MTN, GTCO, Zenith. They move slower but they’re solid.
2. Defensive stocks: Food and medicine. People buy them whether the country is sweet or hard. Nestlé, BUA Foods, Fidson.
3. Cyclical stocks: These follow the economy. Cement, construction, hotels. When the country is building, they’re smiling. Lafarge, Julius Berger, Transcorp Hotels.
4. Commodity stocks: Profit moves with oil and crop prices. Seplat, Aradel, Presco, Okomu.
5. Penny stocks: Cheap shares, usually small companies. They can double fast and crash faster. Handle with care.
6. New listings: Fresh on the exchange with limited history. Transcorp Power listed March 2024 (by introduction). Dangote Refinery is the next big one expected in 2026.
Save this one. Most people don’t lose money because stocks are hard. They lose because they bought what they never understood.

Bring your mom and come by faith believing there is no distance in the spirit realm.
I’ve never spoken about this publicly, so bear with me.
But I want to articulate why this Premier League win for Arsenal isn’t ’just football’.
In July 2025, my son was born with a rare condition called CDH. It’s a hernia that forms in the diaphragm, which means that the major organs develop in the chest cavity.
This puts extreme pressure on the development of the lungs.
We were told throughout the pregnancy that he had a 30-40% chance of survival.
We had to wait until my partner gave birth to see whether he would make it or not.
He had life saving surgery on day 5 of his life - and we endured a 2 month stay in a hospital in London.
At times we were told that he might not make it through the night - but by the grace of god, and throughout a rollercoaster of ups and downs he survived the intensive care process.
During that time was the start of the Premier League season - and the one escape that I had was Arsenal football club.
We had been at hospital for a month, and hadn’t left the hospital grounds. We were there 24/7.
I felt so guilty leaving him, but made the choice to find a local pub and watch Arsenal’s season opening game against Man United. And for that 90 minutes, I was able to escape the pain and sadness.
Watching Arsenal become the one thing that helped me escape, even for just 90 minutes over the course of those few months.
We needed a name for my boy. Something to signify strength, courage and being brave hearted. We chose Leo.
He was born on the 19th July.
Leandro (Leo - number 19) Trossard’s goal against West Ham. That historic goal. Will forever live in a lot of people’s memories forever. For me, it felt like destiny.
Leo is now thriving. And in his first season as an Arsenal fan, he’s been spoilt.
Football means so much to all of us. This football club means so much to us. It’s more than just a game.
It shapes people’s lives, their character. It’s hope, it’s escape, it’s proof that hard work pays off.
Whatever your reason is for loving this club and loving football - enjoy every single second of this joy.
This one is for you, son.

I’m not just proud that I ran a marathon, I’m proud of the person I became along the way.
This journey is a journey only marathoners understand. Truly.
My friend flew in from Canada & ran Access Bank Marathon from start to end. He got to the finish line & there was Fight bcos Medals were not enough. He tried to get & almost died in the Stampede. On his way home he saw an Agbero selling the Medals, he bought one for N50k. 😭😭
@JoeyAkan Na for ground i see medal pick.
It was an embarrassment.
Organising for medals needs to be better.
If them want mek we begin pay for medal mek them tell us.
Yesterday shame wear me beret.
@yankeeplug_ So sorry about your experience.
I experienced the embarrassment at medal collection too I think it is the biggest flaw that still needs fixing otherwise it is far better organised than previous years.
One of Arteta's biggest Arsenal evolutions is that, not only is he able to make the team play any type of game, he can make them play multiple styles in the same game.
That pragmatism is something Arsenal never really had in the Emirates Years. In the past, it was one style; attacking football. That wasn't as bad as the fact that every coach that was going to play Arsenal knew what they'd get.
You are disadvantaged if your enemies know your plans from the start. One game that comes to mind is the Arsene Wenger 1000th game 6-0 loss against Chelsea. They scored the same type of goals, yet Arsenal continued to play the same way. Because the team knew to play only one way.
Those who claim that Arsenal aren't entertaining today want the team to return to being the big club's clown. The one that never won big games and could even get a hiding against its rivals, because it'd play beautiful football even whilst losing 8-2.
You can keep your beautiful football, I want to win, I do not care with what style. Boring is not winning 10 consecutive. Dominance is winning, irrespective of how.
He is one of the greatest gospel singers ever. One of his songs I can never forget is "Sing out" praising thy lord in different tongues.
