π‘ In 2020, the @EU_Commission began the process to review the current #FgasRegulation.
EFCTC and its members value the work and contribution from all stakeholders to date on the Regulation.
Take a look at the summary of what has happened over the past two years π
That's a wrap π EFCTC is delighted to have taken part in the 45th meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (#OEWG45) in Bangkok.
We are looking forward to continuing the timely discussions initiated last week around strengthening the Protocol and working towards the most efficient solutions to take care of the ozone layer as well as our climate, in Europe and beyond.
π Today, EFCTC attended an event "Making a Success of the European Union's F-Gas Regulation" as part of the side events programme of the 45th meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the #MontrealProtocol (#OEWG45).
Thanks to @EPEESecretariat for convening this panel to share the success story of the EU F-gas Regulation with colleagues from all over the world and allowing all participants to gain valuable insights and connect with like-minded professionals.
πΉπ π Hello from Thailand!
EFCTC is delighted to attend the 45th meeting of the Open-ended Working Group of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol (#OEWG45), taking place in Bangkok over the course of this week.
Almost 36 years after the #MontrealProtocol, it is crucial to continue the discussion on further efforts to protect the earth's stratospheric ozone layer and our climate.

The future of Europe's automotive sector is electric ππ
Did you know that F-gases play a crucial role in the production and functioning of #EVs? π‘ In fact, HFOs allow EV batteries to cool during the charging process.
Learn why we need F-gases β¬οΈ
#EVs rely on HFOs to cool their batteries during the charging process and to support their heating system.
Without F-gases, we couldn't sustain the growth of #electricvehicles' popularity. Let's enable the automotive industry to grow sustainably ππ

HFOs are the refrigerant of choice for most hybrid and #electricvehicles manufacturers in the EU πͺπΊ
By 2035, #EVs will be the only new cars sold in Europe ππ That's why F-gases will stay crucial for the production of environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Did you know that F-gases play a crucial role in the #heatpumps refrigeration cycle?
Heat pumps contribute to the increasing use of renewable energy. Thanks to F-gases, we can increase the use of renewable energy, thereby facilitating Europe's climate goals.
Temperature control in all new cars relies on F-gases. But there's more: battery cooling for hybrid and #electricvehicles also depends on F-gases ππ
Thanks to their technical performance, HFOs are crucial to the manufacturing and functioning of #EVs.

Europe is on the road to net-zero by 2050 thanks to the EU Green Deal.
As a driver of the #REPowerEU strategy, heat pumps play a key role in Europe's decarbonisation.
Without F-gases, we are putting Europe's #heatpumps strategy at risk.
EFCTC, as part of an alliance of 10 leading European associations and global partners, responded to the 5th of April European Councilβs announcement on the agreed mandate to begin negotiations on the F-gas Regulation Revision.
