[WATCH] The family of 22-year-old Minentle Mjali led a march in Midrand, calling for justice following her alleged sexual assault and murder. Mjali’s body was discovered under a bed on 24 April after police reportedly received an anonymous tip-off. Four young men appeared in court on 5 May in connection with the case, which has sparked outrage and renewed calls to address gender-based violence. OVERSIGHT AT NOORDWYK OCCUPIED LAND - WARD112 REGION A

We conducted an oversight visit at the occupied stand located at the corner of Lever Road and Boulevard in Ward 112, Midrand. The purpose of the visit was to assess the source of the leaking water and to address reported criminal activities at the intersection.

Further community engagement will be arranged once the data collection process has been completed. It is understood that the land is privately owned by a Chinese national and is currently subject to an ongoing court process.

A follow-up meeting has been planned with relevant stakeholders to seek an amicable and sustainable solution to these challenges.

Further updates will be provided in due course.

COMMUNITY SPORTING EVENT SUCCESS – WARD 112 King Nyabela Branch

As part of our busy schedule on Saturday, 18 April 2026, Ward 112 leadership and fighters attended the Battle of the Establishments tournament hosted by NPO Footballers Factor.

This growing community event brings together four local establishments I.e Luxx Restobar, Felice, ZorZ, and Perere to compete on the soccer field around Midrand. The tournament continues to strengthen unity and promote social cohesion through sport.

Previously won by Luxx Restobar, this year’s tournament saw a strong and determined performance from Perere, who emerged as the 2026 champions.

The event has truly become a family oriented gathering, attracting community members of all ages. We encourage the people of Midrand to continue supporting and participating in such initiatives that build community spirit.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who took part, including our host venue, Noordwyk Secondary School.
