3rd grade rhythmically dictated the rhythm of the song Love Somebody. They also learned about sixteenth notes.

2nd grade sang the song Abiyoyo, a Bantu Lullaby. Then they created their own versions of what Abiyoyo actually looked like. (Abiyoyo is the monster that a young boy tricks by singing and playing his ukulele)

Then they performed rhythmic ostinatos to accompany the song “Will You Be My Valentine”.

Kindergarten and 1st grade learned a song “Will You Be My Valentine”. Then they took turns singing solos!

Kindergarten sang a song about a snail then they practiced “high, middle, and low” patterns by moving their snail to the according level. Then we transferred to sounds to solfege “do, mi, so”.

1st grade took turns being the “call (solo)” and the “response (group)” for the song GREEN, GREEN, ROCKY.

1st grade had a nearpod lesson on high and low. They were given a three-note melodic pattern that they had to decide if it was high-high-low or low-low-high etc. Then they had to draw the notes according to whether they thought the notes were high or low in their “Apple Tree”.

1st grade played the game “Apple Tree”. Then they did a Nearpod on high and low notes.

The lower grades created a Thanksgiving meal using quarter notes and eighth notes. Ice cream and pumpkin pie were very popular!

The upper grades created a RHYTHMIC THANKSGIVING MEAL.

The lower grades composed using one syllable (quarter note) and two syllable (eighth note pair) “Halloween” words!

The upper grades are making their own versions of the Addams Family in honor of HALLOWEEN! 🎃

2nd grade performed the play party song “Tideo”.

4th grade learned about the Gold Rush in 1848 with the song Sweet Betsy from Pike. Then they created movements for the verse/refrain form.

1st grade is learning about quarter notes and eighth-note pairs. They used nearpod to practice writing rhythms and then performed the rhythms on instruments.

Kindergarten is learning about “call and response form”. We listened to the song Dinner Music then performed solos on the response. We used pictures to create a story map of the song Dinner Music.

3rd grade sang the song “Old Dan Tucker” and then created movements to the Verse and Refrain. Then created a picture to go with the crazy lyrics of Old Dan. Old Dan Tucket washed his face in a frying pan, combed his hair with a wagon wheel,rode a goat and walked a hound dog!

2nd grade is learning about sixteenth notes. They created sixteenth note rhythm patterns using quarter notes/rests, eighth notes and sixteenth notes.

5th grade created their own versions of “I Love the Mountains”. Then they learned about “A B Form” in music and then created their own movements for the A and B sections of the song.
