MMSE score of a client I thought initially seemed cognitively intact ended up being much lower than expected. Very surprising. #uwmola2014

Learned to modify MMSE with yes/no questions. Saw a client go from crying to smiling in the span of 5 min. Good experience #uwmola2014

#uwmola2014 Getting a participant to relax during reflex tests was not easy. Need to find different ways to instruct them.

#uwmola2014 observed a client fly through the 2 min walk test faster than most people. Disability doesn't mean inability.

@UWMKIN526 #uwmola2014 being more descriptive in my language will be something I'm going to need to work on with vision impaired clients

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

@UWMKIN526 #uwmola2014 cervical exam in sitting was a challenge. Good thing I took 4 blood pressure readings to boost my confidence

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

@UWMKIN526 #uwmola2014 communicating using only a writing board made me realize how much instruction we need to pack into each sentence

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

@UWMKIN526 #uwmola2014 I have to work on giving clear instructions, having the patient mirror me when instruction failed was helpful

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

#uwmola2014 @UWMKIN526 really surprised me how willing today's participants were, made OLA go very smoothly!

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

@UWMKIN526 #uwmola2014 certain structures were easier to palpate on our volunteers than classmates. Good practice

[Egli Spaho @EgliSpaho]

@UWMKIN526 confidence will come with practice. Looking forward to the next OLA! #uwmola2014
